He'd have probably done exactly what Rooney did. Try to run at their ten men behind the ball and end up losing the ball and getting frustrated.

To be fair Roy played him loads when he was in form lads. Last few months in the premier league Delle Ali has outperformed Ross. In general Ross hasn't played better than anyone for a while, he played himself out of the England team or you could say Martinez' awful end to our season meant Barkley and Stones don't get in the lineup and Baines and Jags didn't even get in the squad!

Explain Henderson and Wilshire playing then???!!

Who wasn't playing when? Alli, Wilshere, Henderson and Lallana were all playing and were all a waste of space. Not an inventive idea between them.
Ross didn't play himself out of the team at all as he was picked to go to France, just ignored by Woy when he got there.

The Ross bashing doesn't tend to come from the segment of the fanbase that doesn't see him as the Messiah. It comes from people that put way too much expectation on him (like carrying England at 22) and then are disappointed when he isn't the second coming of Zidane.

Alli played far better than Ross did in the season's terminus. Wilshire and Henderson did not play, and thus did not play themselves out of the team.

Lallana...I dunno, but he offers more out wide than Barkley (though admittedly that is damning with faint praise).

Ross is a brilliant talent. That does not mean he should be starting this Euros. Or even playing. However his talent is enough to bring him as a nuclear option, or simply to have him a part of the squad as his future so obviously lies as part of the setup.

Anyone know who helped change the pattern of play in England's most recent good performance vs Germany? Ah yes, Ignored Farcically.

Wales showed tonight you can, gasp, play with two central midfielders high up the pitch. Ledley stayed deep and Allen played much further up than I've ever seen him, virtually alongside Ramsey.

He's a bad rat but Billic tried to explain this to arch superminds Dixon, Wright and Crouch but strangely it just didn't get through
