Our flair players get endless stick (except Geri) where our safe players get a lot more leeway. It took 2 seasons of utter uselessness for McCarthy to begin t get it. Ross got it much earlier.

Kev gets slated constantly because he blows hot and cold.

There is definitely a preference for 'workmanlike' players at the expense of instinct and talent.

And Cleverly is a war crime and should be treated as such. I think he gets kid glove treatment comparing how he's treated to Ross and their respective talent levels and contributions.

Players that are always on the ball, will inevitably give the ball away/make a mistake. Unfortunately, if someone makes 100 passes but 5 don't reach the target, they will get more 'stick' than the player that makes 20 passes with 4 not reaching the target.
