I wonder how many of the ones slating Barkley now are the same ones greeting Rooney with open arms

So welcoming someone who wants to play for this club while waving "see ya" to someone who doesn't? And that's wrong how?

And both were offered lucrative contracts by the club. The club is very much in the up, players are signing citing the influence of koeman as an attraction to come to the club, but Rom and Ross don't want to be part of that. How is that koeman's fault.

Not exactly open arms.. but I am one of those people that think Rooney will be a good signing.

Rooney was the best young player of his generation and in Europe at the time .. ross isn't and never has been.

Rooney left for the biggest and most dominant team in the league

Everton finished 17th and were going nowhere... when Rooney left

We are getting a stadium and obviously trying to push on now... but ross wants out

Literally every evertonian was heartbroken or angry and every single one of us without question wanted Rooney to stay..

That is not the same with Barkley..
not really the same situation as Rooney's IMO .

there is a massive difference between the club selling rooney 13 years ago at a time when 30 millions was a ridiculous amount of money for a player and we were in no position to be rejecting offers like that given that we were fighting to stay in the leagueto now being in a financially secure position and being able to reject offers and offer players 100k a week to be part of a project to make everton great again and the player still wanting to leave.

He's been here for one season mate... and if you don't think we have improved as a team your blind IMO. That team at the end of RM tenure was shocking, he's nearly gotten rid of all the crap and hopefully we can push on this year. I'm not saying he's the next Alex ferguson , but give him time to sort his team out for god sake.
