Get the impression, koeman isn't the best man manager, but commands the respect of the players, due to his standing in the game. He seems the type who doesn't suffer fools gladly. Whereas Martinez was a I think a good man manager, the players certainly seemed to like him, but ultimately he lost their respect and we all know what happened. I guess it getting the happy medium between the two.
His public criticism of Ross at the beginning of last season was wrong, but he publicly announced that he was wrong in doing so. Koeman has very high standards and I think at times he maybe needed an 'arm round the shoulder approach'. But saying that it is was alledgedly Koeman took the time to sit with Ross on a 1 to 1 basis to watch his performances and guide him. It's just sad a talented Evertonian wants to leave Everton at this time when there is so much positivity around the club.
