uh, but why would he? And what is backing him even mean? Why would he need "protection"? The problem is that Ronnie is correct in how Ross needs to play.

Ross has had his chances - tons of them.
The Manager wants Ross to bend the knee but maybe the manager is,nt the best at putting his arm around players and getting the best out of a player. That,s fine it,s not his job but do we have to throw the baby out with the bath water because the manager can,t be arsed to find another way...if he sells ok with me but there is a player in there and I bet Unsy could get the best out of him. Horses for courses mate.

I back the manager, he wants productivity on tap but someone like Rooney who could be a coach to Unsy one day might be the man to get another level of productivity out of Ross.

If we want to even entertain the thought of making progress towards the top 4 then we should be retaining Barkley as well as signing the players we've brought in.
And we've tried to do that. He's forced the club into this position. Why on earth are people still crying over spilt milk at this stage. Time to get it into your heads, Ross Barkley does not want to play for Everton Football Club and would rather be a squad player elsewhere. We all know losing him is not ideal, some of us just disagree about how damaging it will be to us. IMO hell of damaged his own career far more then he'll of damaged us.

All Koeman wants Ross to do is be the best player he can be and take the constructive criticism as it's intended. Koeman is obviously very good at getting the best out of players since he got one if the best seasons out of Ross last year. The best mate manager BS clearly didn't work for Ross because he went backwards season after season under Martinez while being managed with that exact style.

Like with Oxlade Chamberlain, the sky sports yellow bar is surely going to release news of a bid for Ross. If it doesn't, what next for him? Recover from injury and sit in the stands? What a mess.

I'm not sure how he went backwards under Martinez seeing as he wasn't even a first team squad member he got here but I do agree that he has had two polar opposites in charge of him and he has not seemed totally at ease with either of them.

Look at his first season as a first team regular and then see how he goes backwards in the folowing seasons. This partly due to the playing style of Martinez, I'm not excusing Ross. He is the one predominantly to blame if he's gone backwards as a player but it's there for all to see how he got worse and worse in 14-15 and then 15-16 only to see a marked improvement in 16-17 under Koeman.

You have to wonder what Ross wants from a manager really. If he's not happy with both of the management style of Martinez and Koeman you have to start questioning just what he wants from a manager in terms of man management.

Reckon if somebody is mad enough to offer 30m for him the club will be ushering him out of the door sharpish.
