He very nearly signed for Chelsea, not the actions of some who is running down the contract. I agree with most of what you say thogh
Running it down is obviously open to interpretation but at the end of the day he didn't sign for Chelsea, is going to consider his options in January and has indicated he has no intention of signing an extension on his contract. If it looks like a duck, swims like a duck, and quacks like a duck, then it probably is a duck.

Imagine we are flying and Spurs are having a stinker and he's desperate to sign lol

That wouldn't bother the rat. He'd still reach his end goal by getting his big fat signing on fee.

Everton wanted the move to Chelsea so they could recoup a transfer fee. Ross played along until the last minute.

Did anybody ever read Hans Christian Andersen to you as a child? Not that I disagree with you.

I still hold to the opinion that he is being screwed by bad advisors. Not all footballers are tough enough to make their own decisions - there are so many influences - agents, team mates, coaches, managers, family...and it must be hard for some people to make their own decision. Martinez and Koeman seem to be opposites in their approach to Ross - unconditional vs tough love - and maybe he just made a big mistake of freaking out and thinking he should leave. Maybe the agents took advantage of that to either a) get a new much better contract at everton with a big sign on fee (which everton didn't fall for) or b) get a move away from the club for a big fee. In either case, it seems like Ross didn't have the guts to say 'I want to stay at everton' or he has actually got fed up of everton and hasn't got the character to fight.

If Niasse and others can get a 2nd chance, Jose Baxter, Ashley Williams lol and we even tolerated several international breaks by Lukaku, I would forgive ...IF he makes a decent statement to the club and fans and signs a new contract.
