...heard some interesting information at the match today. You might recall Dr Irvine retired at the end of last season after many years Service. Irvine was the chap who ran on when Bolasie got hurt and started to inspect the wrong leg. Anyway, an innovative and modern replacement was required and the new bloke came in.

I understand the bloke has no football experience at all and gave Barkley’s legs a much deeper massage than a player would normally expect. Barkley went out and got a severe hamstring. The players lost faith and more importantly the club lost a bundle in transfer revenue. I’m told the new Dr is now the old Dr and a replacement is sought.

All unconfirmed of course.
Did he rim him ??

why would a Doctor be giving a massage to a footballer, surely a masseur or a physio would be doing that. ????

..that is a good point, Everton do employ a masseur. I was thinking that myself and will ask but it might be that he was introducing himself to the players by giving them one-to-one treatment.

Cheers eggs, would be interesting twist to the barkley story. From personal experience the deep massages are usually for breaking up scare tissue on a previous injury, i had one on my calf at the national sports centre crystal palace, and was one of the most painful things i have experienced ever.

..I know, Matey. Hamstrings finished me off and it can be really painful when a masseur digs deep into the thigh. I’ll get back to you.

Same here. Utter agony breaking down the scar tissue.

Hammys tend to mend themselves with a bit of care and attention.
