He still had an important role, was one of our most used players, usually the first to come off the bench,just wasnt starting regularly. Hardly a bit part player

We defo cant say to clubs: "here he is, loads of experience, bags of talent, England international - that'll be £50M thanks". They smell blood in the water and the bargain of this summer. All thanks to the chuckleheads who allowed it to happen.

What we can do in terms of being constructive is to go for the player swap route. As you say, Smalling at United - fine with that. Certainly better than HMS Williams taking 15 minutes to turn 180 degrees.

That or, as said, the unwanted Kenedy at Chelsea plus £20M.

I wonder what Arsenal are thinking about the bargain of the summer if Alexis and Ozil don't sign new deals. Both are entering their final years.

When's he peeing off? Seriously don't want him here by the time the Stoke game arrives, it's a distraction we really need to be doing without. Just hand in a transfer request, accept the first reasonable bid and then go on is way. The club is about to enter a very successful period and he'll massively regret not being part of it of that I'm sure.

These chuckleheads you mention are Barkley and his agents. Our club have offered him as much if not more than Spurs will, he has deliberately run down his contract. When we get a lower price, don't blame anyone other than Barkley.....

I don't get much as I said. The last few were Rom going to Utd he told me before the end of the season. We are after some kid from Charlton he told me last December. He also said Rooney was a cert for the MLS so not all he gets is spot on.

1500 minutes of PL football last season is more bit part than anything else.

Yes, he may have come off the bench a lot but Conte always used his subs allocation last season.

Be assed for him to be moping around the training ground - if he's the type.

No idea if he would do any of the above but nowt worse than working with someone who can't wait to leave!

Gutted Ross is/was my favourite player and is bringing up those painful, angry Rooney memories of my early teens!! Though this time it's out of complete utter confusion of why he would leave with no actual answers than the realisation we were too poo and too poor to keep Rooney.

Looking forward for this being over, really the last player I would've thought this would be happening with especially with the end of season run and crowd celebrations etc.

I think it's only a distraction for us fans. The players won't be bothered, he's 'injured' and so not part of training.
If we're not a buy to sell club anymore, then we aren't waiting for his transfer fee to land before we buy anyone else.
If we still are a buy to sell club, a number of things should've been handled differently.

Do we sell a player to buy others, or do we buy (unless we produce the player through our ranks) a player to then sell and buy others?
