People can make themselves feel better by comparing him to Rodwell but the fact is that Barkley would walk into our starting XI and is head and shoulders above any other young talent we've got coming through the ranks.
It's a farce of a situation we've found ourselves in but it'll be interesting to see how he does with better players around him. Reckon he might benefit from not being left isolated with no support in attacking areas myself.

Can’t compare Ross to Rodwell.
Rodwell was an absolute fraud of a player that played at U17 level at 13 years old, developed a reputation for being special and never improved past that level.
I can honestly hand on heart say that I have never in my 27 years despised an Everton player as much as I despise Jack Rodwell after that derby performance , amongst others. A complete and utter gutless coward of a footballer and it makes me sick thinking that he took more out of our football club in 2 weeks wages than I’ll ever put in.
Ross could leave at the end of his contract and do anything he wanted to and he would still be remembered 100x more fondly than that absolute walking crab of a football player.

We got 12 million for Rodwell, when 12 was a top fee, be lucky to get that for Ross, we could of got a top fee for Ross if he had signed, but were getting screwed over by him, on the scale of things Rodwell isnt that important, Ross is on par with Barmby

Imagine if all the media and ‘whispers’ are rubbish. I can see why he wanted out when Koeman called him out publically every time he had a bad game after Roberto called him world class no matter how bad his form was, it must’ve messed with his head to be honest. If anyone can help him mentally sort himself out it would be Sam and who knows, maybe he hasn’t just had a bad injury and is only just back to fitness now...
