2017/18 Ross Barkley

Every coach at every level has said the same thing about RB. All the physical attributes to be a top player but not the brain to go with it. I don’t think that will change now.

Needs to toughen up and sorted his head out though when he gets to Chelsea. Lets go back to Wembley in the FA Cup Semi, Jagielka having to reassure Ross that the fans weren't booing him says it all.

When he has a poor game the Chelsea fans will be on his back more than we ever were - when he comes back to Goodison because of how this deal has went he'll get absolute pelters off our fans, he cant be showing signs of weakness at Chelsea. Chelsea arent like us, he wont get the constant reassurance or babying that he got here at Everton, he needs to toughen up if he wants to be a success.

Everton has broken me this season, Ross leaving is just the cherry on top of the excrement sundae

There's a worrying trend when you consider Stones, Lukaku and now Ross are all off. That's the spine of a great team, and they've all jumped ship with none of them as yet being adequately replaced

Sadly we seem doomed to many more years of wilderness

The saddest thing about Barkley wanting to leave is that a part of me doesn't blame him. The clubs a mess, why would you want to commit to that?

With Newcastle getting their big take over and a newly minted Wolves looking dead certs for promotion, I worry that any window we had to kick on has now been firmly shut

similar to what I posted a bit earlier.

like you say since Moshiri has come in we have lost the spine of a superb looking team. Not even a new billionaire owner could stop it, and we haven't replaced any of them adequately

we are regressing. simple as that.

They all wanted to go what could moshiri have done about it?

Hopefully at least now he gets fit, plays in the Chelsea side that demolishes Liverpool in the CL latter stages and then wins the World Cup with Engerlund

I think he made himself perfectly clear.

He wants barkleys entire family hounded out of Liverpool

Yup, that's how I read it too. However if this is bringing back this gangster theme again, surely we can all dismiss this claptrap as the 'real' reason he's leaving.

For a start, if he was that frightened / desperate to leave the city, presumably he'd have taken the chance that was laid on a plate for him at the end of the Summer? Also when this bar incident originally happrned, it was widely reported that the so called gangster overlord was a nomark Walter Mitty type trying to big himself up. Can't see any truth in this non-story myself.

He will find that hard when coming off the bench for brief cameos.

Removing the blue tinted glasses, it was always going to be incredibly difficult to retain the services of all three of those players in the long-term.

We had an opportunity after Martinez's first season if we had continued, however it was unfortunately shown to be a mere purple patch.

Stones moved to the Citeh where he's being coached by one of the best, quietly flourished and is nailed on for a title and possibly European gains.

Personally, I can't blame him for that! Rom has moved to one of the biggest clubs in the world (for a massive fee) because he wants the same.

Once again, I really can't blame him for that either although his behaviour wasn't as respectable as John's; alas, it's not working out as well.

Ross on the other hand, well I think he's slightly riding on the wave of the other two as arguably - well, in my opinion - he's much less of a player.

It's sad to see and sometimes difficult to swallow, however look how many other clubs it happens to; retaining talent is incredibly difficult to do.
