2017/18 Ross Barkley

I think it says quite a lot about where our club is heading if one of our players, a youth team product who has made it in the premier league and gone on to become a full England international, wants to leave, and not only that, wants to discredit the club by leaving for next to nothing having on purposely ran his contract down.

weve all thought the club is rotten for a long time.

this Barkley saga is yet another nail in this current Everton's coffin.

any player we sign, who has a good season will be looking to move, as the likes of stones, rom and barkley have all done.

what is the point in trying to compete with the top 6 if we are selling them our best players year after year.

we are a club that lacks any ambition whatsoever. Ross Barkley should be the stalwart, staunch Evertonian telling players to stay at Everton, a club going places, new stadium, champions league ambitions, new owner etc etc etc..

instead he is leaving out the back door, not even caring about this club, his and our club.

its the same old shitee from Everton yet again

So much melodrama. Your time of the month?

Given our stature in the current football world I’m not sure what you were expecting.

I'm pretty sure the PFA would have had something to say about that. Perhaps he could have trained alone or with the youngsters, but not at all?

Ross hasn't really shown himself in the best light with his behaviour, however that doesn't mean we should resort to such immature tactics.

Yeah, by “not welcome” I don’t mean a team of lads from Santa Chupitos ready to chin him before he got into the car park, but it’s not immature to act a bit frosty towards him after what he did.

Disagree, Chelsea and Spurs wouldn’t be interested if he was average. He may not be elite or one of the best but he’s clearly above average, especially with the outstanding technical ability he has.

Wasn't he pining for a move to Spurs? As in, holding out and pulling out of a Chelsea medical for them? Didn't he want to work under the greatest manager that's ever managed and can develop young players even though he's older than half their squad? That Spurs?

Where are they?

Of course you can. His contract probably would have allowed him to come in and use the facilities between certain hours. No one had to help him get fit, constantly talk about him and intergrate him back into the squad like they have done.

Is it likely that all the players and staff would have turned on him like some sort of lion pride? Of course not. But he should have been told we’ll do nothing to help him snide us off. It’s hardly got us a massive fee.

It's difficult, because I agree it seem he has snided us right off, but officially he's not done anything wrong really.

Clearest indication this off how poorly our club is been run at the top that he is going for the same money as Jordan Ibe went for!

Modern day footballers all the same so not surprised. Interesting to see if Conte gets a tune out of him.

We will finally find out if anything really going on in the background

Just buy him a PureGym membership. Problem sorted.

Nail on the head!! How depressing. How we have got here, or are still here, following the days of this 'project' we had with Moshiri, it has all but vanished

Although this is the way it goes for all clubs these days, Southampton lose all their players too. Imagine the squad they'd have if they still had all those players.

Don't think FFP helps any club outside the elite either...gone are the days you can go out and spend a fortune on a new squad. Unless you sell to buy.

I’m glad my bosses didn’t treat me like a lepper when I had the gaul to tell them I wanted to leave 6 months in advance.

Honestly, some proper militants on this forum. Like a bunch of scorned blokes raging cause their bird has walked off with a more successful bloke

It's difficult, because I agree it seem he has snided us right off, but officially he's not done anything wrong really.

And if our staff had just basically ignored him, we wouldn’t have “officially” done anything wrong either.

I just feel the club have made themselves look a bit silly. Not that I care, because we are silly, but still. Allardyce himself said the board were resigned to losing him months ago, yet they kept talking about him. Why?

Just glad it hasn't dragged on.

£15m is a joke, but that's down to Ross, his agent and Chelsea doing us over in the summer - which is all down to us not sorting the contract situation when - as much as he's screwed us as well - Koeman demanded back in May.

I wonder do all the people who call Ross a Rat and Snake what do they call Siggy??

Honestly don't care mate - since when has part of being a fan been to be partial and consider the wider picture.

Barkley came up through the academy, was stuck by through some horror injury that a lot of clubs would have cut him loose during, supported through a few off filed shenanigans and he runs a contract down to cost the club a lot of money - but hey he held his hands out celebrating once and jumped in the Gwladys.

Hope he ends up at Newcastlew playing in the Championship in a years time getting booted in his bad hamstring by yarddogs
