Like I’d have been gutted if he went regardless of the situation but the way he’s gone is just a joke.

Not just him though, the club need some of the blame. Why was he allowed to run his contract down, why was he only given a 4 year deal anyway and why didn’t they just come out and say he was off earlier instead of keeping everyone in the dark.

Why would Chelsea pay £35 million in summer for someone who hasn’t played yet due to his injury when they can get him now for less than half and he’s fit and ready to go at our expense. Wouldn’t be surprised if Chelsea have said sit tight and see you in January.

Without doubt Bob.

Chelsea ‘insert rude word of choice’

I think it says quite a lot about where our club is heading if one of our players, a youth team product who has made it in the premier league and gone on to become a full England international, wants to leave, and not only that, wants to discredit the club by leaving for next to nothing having on purposely ran his contract down.

weve all thought the club is rotten for a long time.

this Barkley saga is yet another nail in this current Everton's coffin.

any player we sign, who has a good season will be looking to move, as the likes of stones, rom and barkley have all done.

what is the point in trying to compete with the top 6 if we are selling them our best players year after year.

we are a club that lacks any ambition whatsoever. Ross Barkley should be the stalwart, staunch Evertonian telling players to stay at Everton, a club going places, new stadium, champions league ambitions, new owner etc etc etc..

instead he is leaving out the back door, not even caring about this club, his and our club.

its the same old shitee from Everton yet again

The fact that the club posted pictures and videos of him getting fit, for him use that fitness getting a move to Chelsea, is quite pathetic.

He should have been told in no uncertain terms that he was not welcome at the training ground when he tried to leave first time round.
I'm pretty sure the PFA would have had something to say about that. Perhaps he could have trained alone or with the youngsters, but not at all?

Ross hasn't really shown himself in the best light with his behaviour, however that doesn't mean we should resort to such immature tactics.

I guess you can't really do that when under contract.

Of course you can. His contract probably would have allowed him to come in and use the facilities between certain hours. No one had to help him get fit, constantly talk about him and intergrate him back into the squad like they have done.

Is it likely that all the players and staff would have turned on him like some sort of lion pride? Of course not. But he should have been told we’ll do nothing to help him snide us off. It’s hardly got us a massive fee.
