Allardyce mentioned only yesterday that the club were 'resigned' to Barkley leaving before he arrived, so it's not really a surprise either.
Barkley hasn't been forced to leave; he's chose that he wanted to fulfil his dreams of grandeur and he wants to do it elsewhere.

Looking more and more like Chelsea never had any intention of signing him last summer meaning we haven’t missed out on anything.
For me, nowhere. I can’t really think a rational reason to hate him. His careers stalled badly in recent times so can understand him wanting to switch things up... especially given how toss Everton currently are.
