15m in this market is peanuts- surely we could have got at least 20m despite him only having a few months left on this contract. Utd and Spurs could have been attracted into a bidding war.

How big of a deal was the nightclub incident I wonder, and when added to fans getting on his back - if that's concocted to really motivate him to leave.

It was great whilst it lasted - but it's really poor from our side to let this happen. How much leverage would we have had to at least sit down with him and ask for a 12 month extension? Do we literally have nobody at Everton capable of doing this, or with a good enough relationship to reason with Ross?

There was an interview with Vlasic where he mentioned that no-one asked him how he was getting on or cared what he was up to outside of his time on the training pitch. Clock in, train, go home, hear from no one.

Probably have no one capable of sitting down and actually talking to Barkley, so this has all been played out through the prism of agent greed.

If we're going down the route of "if you heard it on TV it doesn't count as you weren't at the game" then it's a sad state of affairs.

FWIW I've had a season ticket for 3/4 of my life, I'm very aware of what the 'Goodison groan' sounds like, I've literally heard it thousands of times. Thousands. It happened at United several times, it happens at every game several times, and I'm not surprised one bit that our players don't look forward to going out and playing in it.

Look back on Fiorentina to see what Goodison is capable of, and what happened that night. Absolutely thousands of miles away from a load of idiots in the paddock hysterically hissing because a pass doesn't come off.
