That part of it makes total sense I agree, but even a club like Chelsea wouldn't let the player take the backlash on that. They'd simply announce it. Barkley was the one who said he'd pulled out, and then faced the backlash from the media, the club and the fans. Why would he do that of it was Chelsea's decision, and why would Chelsea allow him to?. Makes absolutely no sense whatsoever.
It isn't though. I'm fuming at both.

Haha true and to be honest I completely agree with you. I'd rather just let him leave on a free and keep him and he could help to get us back in a top half finish. At least then if he played well he could leave on good terms.

Barkley simply got his head turned by Lukaku IMO. Whereas Lukaku had no loyalty and is now on a big contract at Man Utd, and from day one saw Everton as a stepping stone.
