For all intents and purposes Rooney is well beyond his best and I'm in the mind set that take away his penalty goals this season people wouldn't be singing his praises quite as much.
He might be one if our best players currently but that is a sad reflection of the squad as a whole rather than a compliment.
As far as I am concerned Barkley has chosen to leave us a year ago and has chosen to cost the club 20 million on transfer fees. True fans should have no affinity to him, because he clearly hasn't give a damn about the club.
