2017/18 Ross Barkley

Absolutely spot on.

When people moaned today about us not keeping possession - this is why. What Barkley does is carry a ball and not give the stupid pass into a position which is likely to result in a turnover. So the "dawdling" people complain about with him isn't what they think; it's simply that he's waiting to transition the ball intelligently rather than give a pass that anybody could do.

If people went to Goodison last year or watched away games and didn't see the chronic lack of movement from our attack, then I can't help them. But Barkley wasn't the problem - he was doing exactly what he was tasked to do; get in between the lines, take the ball, turn it and look to progress an attack.

We've missed that badly in pre-season. Indeed, the only time we had an element of it was through Lookman in that last 20, because he cut into that line and took the ball to feet.

Spot on.
Wish we could convince him to stay

Whether you'd love him to stay or want him to go the teams standing since he was introduced has never improved from before Moyes ever played him. same as Lukaku, we were finishing in similar positions sometimes we even finished lower with both of them. I don't think he'll be missed in that regard. I doubt our standing will suffer due to him leaving.

There must be an almighty battle going on behind the scenes from the elite clubs in world football to secure his signature. Must explain why he's still here.
His price goes down every day it gets closer to the end of the transfer window, which is why we'll see bids towards the end of the window.

Makes zero sense if a club actually wants him that. Its one thing to hope to pick up a good player on the cheap, a totally different one if a club actually wants the lad as a starter.

Its like waiting till the last day of the sales to buy a top for a few bob less, but you aint that arsed if you dont get it.

Time will tell, let's see what happens.

maybe barkley should realise that no one else actually really wants him, I mean I think a few of the top teams will want him but not because he will improve their squad but more so he's young. English and will pick up fairly cheap ( considering the market ) why cant he just grow some balls sign a contract and fight for his place!

He won't be first choice at spuds, be a bad move for Ross. In fact he won't be first choice for any team above us. Strange move.

Its a bit hard to sell any player when undergoing surgery!
he is now back on light training as you have to pass a fitness test !
clubs have made enquiries!
they will leave it late as our club have let his contract run down not now , but from last year!
