I've been booted off the tv, so jumped onto a stream - BBC coverage - been on it, maximum five minutes and Danny Murphy is making the same "last orders" joke that he made in the only other few minutes of BBC coverage I caught.

I think its easy to blame the smaller teams and the extended format, but some of the big teams have been terrible or underwhelming.

It does seem like no team is particularly firing but I wonder how much of that is down to being up against these teams shutting up shop and only playing on the counter.

Obviously good teams should be able to break them down eventually (and they have done for the most part) but it doesn't half make for boring games

That's not just a 'small team' trait. A clash of styles can create good games. I actually enjoyed portugal vs slovenia.

France vs Belgium wasn't a classic, for example.

Just realized Calhanoglu was suspended for this. That’s a killer for Turkey. He keeps them going. I expect the Austrians will be fairly comfortable here.
