Its the most gareth southgate of decisions. He's completely earsed the left hand side for attacking purposes. If saka can drop in and also attack down the right why cant Gordon on the left.
Take trippier and kane off and put on gordon and watkins. The swiss are beatable here.

Watkins isn’t an international striker for me, little bit lightweight

There's no second gear. I don't mind teams varying tempo, but there's little sign of it.

Think the only time I've seen a bit of speed and urgency was the last 5/10 against Slovakia.

Corners and free kicks around opponents pen area ending up with Pickford says it all. Lack of movement and creativity is painful. Palmer on for me

This is what Harry Kane is.

Really effective in a team built around him, great goalscorer and helps out further back but if you just chuck him in the team and do nothing for him he is worthless unless he gets a chance. He's not got a trick in him or anything.

It's like watching Ronaldo but he has the excuse of being nearly 40.
