I imagine King Kenny's appointment was as much to keep Torres and Reina at the Tin Mine as actually making improvements to the squad. Still, if Kenny signs a few more David Speedies and Jimmy Carters I'll be happy.

I dunno. If anything this looks like more of a coup, with Dalgish and his minions forcing Woy out (lets face it he has been agitating for this since Rafael was sacked), and forcing Yanks II to appoint him as caretaker. The next step will be the demand that he be given sufficient money to strengthen the squad, for Comolli and everyone else who isnt on his side to be given the boot, and then (after a half-season of "promise") for him to be given the job full time. As was said on the Guardian podcast this week, once he is in the post the Yanks will find it very difficult to get rid.

Im delighted with the appointment, cant wait till the kop start heckling on of their 'own' after the new manager syndrome of a few decent performances at the start wears off. When has any manager proved a success at the same club second time around? I cant recall any really. We'll still stick it up em next week anyways, bring it on!
