In both Instances only 1 favourite was backed.
NH teams just don’t do world cups like England do.

Been scratching my brain how we won that.. France in the first half were unreal, dominating the rucks, causing our line outs problems but we managed to stay in it with some up and understand that fell short of the mark but caused enough chaos to give us chances to score.
With Eben off and France not taking that time to extend their lead I think that’s when it shifted.
Kwagga comes on and all of a sudden we are competing at the breakdown. He is a machine!
The last 25 mins I felt SA more in control of the game and could have opened the gap further.
I think France had the wind punched out of them by then and with Duane, Kwagga and Pieter together at the end we were now too strong.
Key moment is that charge down. kolbe was on a mission and you could see him taking the responsibility to give us forward momentum with some stupidly electrifying runs.
At one time thought we were missing Marx and not sure why Fourie replaced Kolisi.. but when Bongi went off the balance seemed restored.
Anyone thinking England will get rolled over are wrong. It’s going to be another crunching game!

Wouldn't disagree with that. Maybe throw Fiji v Australia in there but maybe I'm saying that because of the result rather than the actual match.
I put £20 on and got £426 back. Only England were favourites out of those 4 winners.
I also did France, Wales, England and Ireland to win their relevant groups. Out of them, only England were favourites and I think they may have been joint favourites. They were 10/11.
My mate did that and got 20/1.
it's a fine game , RU, Ive never touched the ball,or played the game, of RU or RL, both fine sports with more player integrity of rules, on the park , than football, but the skill and passion of the crowds in this tournament, takes some beating, along with the competition teams.France should have won, but got punished by an outstanding SA team, who literally gave all for the cause.

But for me the best spirited World Cup for RU, by far.

That was the best game of rugby esp the first half I have ever seen. I wanted France to win but by god are the South Africans some team. They know how to adapt to a game. I was absolutely sicked after last night with Ireland but at the end of the day if your poor against the best teams at set pieces your never going to win. You might get away with it once but not twice and that was their downfall
No surprise to see two semi-finalists from the dreaded group of death. Surely the only undefeated team remaining are favourites now.
