How bad must the state of international rugby be when Wales can curb stomp Australia who have 10x the population size and have it as proper big time sport over there.

They've discovered fast food like big macs and kfc. Beach bums. Could Fiji send Aus home in the group? That'd be fun.

I don’t think Wales being able to smash Aus is a problem - the real problem is the chasm between the tier 1 and tier 2 nations when it comes to international rugby

Oh man , that’s Wales most comprehensive win over a Tier 1 nation at the RWC. I’ve watched Wales lose to Aus in 2007 RWC in Cardiff, and again in Twickenham in 2015 , then saw them win in their only previous RWC victory in Japan four years ago . Huge smile on my face , Wales do what Everton do to me , you’re never certain of a win until it’s beyond doubt . A poor Australian performance that , but Wales totally dominated I’m every area of the pitch. Nick Tompkins is a very underrated centre , and we’ve now got a captain we can rally behind again in Captain Jac Morgan. I’m rather chuffed.

Fiji would have to drop an absolute howler to not knock Aus out in fairness. Would have to lose both of their remaining games to pretty poor opposition

How bad must the state of international rugby be when Wales can curb stomp Australia who have 10x the population size.

Rugby is probably about 5-6th on the list of sports they care about to be fair. The population thing never adds up, eg New Zealand having 5mil people but it's their global sport, England having 50odd mil and only winning the football world cup once. China 1bil people etc.
