Rugby is probably about 5-6th on the list of sports they care about to be fair. The population thing never adds up, eg New Zealand having 5mil people but it's their global sport, England having 50odd mil and only winning the football world cup once. China 1bil people etc.

Yeah, rugby league is far far bigger in Australia now.
Even the women's netball is supposed to be bigger than Union.
