Congrats to NZ, but felt we left that behind us. Think we lost the head in very advantageous positions and took some crazy options/kicks - we wouldn't usually in other circumstances. Left a lot of points behind us.

A game worthy of a final.

Have to say the NZ defense was just outstanding, i dont know if ive ever seen better - incredible.

Ireland s*** the bed every worldcup.. we've gone into the WC twice as the Number 1 ranked side in the world and still can't pass the last 8...
The next time I hear someone say that Rugby test matches aren't friendlys I'll have to be restrained.. We beat NZ in 2 out of 3 friendlys in NZ it appears they learned from it where as in Ireland we made documentarys about it.
If SA had a kicker we'd have lost that one too...
The Irish rugby team reminds me of the Clare hurlers. They've the whole thing won before the real business begins. And then they meet the grizzled veterans of big matches and, well, that's that. The ref tends to take the blame too...

Hard lines Ireland. I just hope England get beat tomorrow.
I couldn't care less about England. That's how far they've fallen. But they'll beat Fiji and probably scare France - if it is the French. And fair play to them: they know their current limitations and are making the best of what they have without hype. You know, after 45 years of watching and loving sport, I have realised that any schadenfreude I take from sport is not really because I dislike a "people" or a team. It's because I dislike hype - especially when it spills over into some form of entitlement or arrogance. There's been none of that from this England side or its supporters - so good luck to them, in my book. Ireland? A little too much self-congratulatory "shur, aren't we a great bunch of lads" guff from the fans and media about this "adventure", which strangely has ended where the previous 9 have. Funny that.

As an Irish person I'm repulsed by the entitlement shown by Irish rugby going crowd, many of whom were on the bandwagon btw. Yes there was two solid years of form and that's been destroyed by an inept plan last night. An average to middling NZ team (by their standards) is still better than most and they clicked. Ireland kicking to touch for lineouts was insane. Sexton left 6 to 9 points out there including a poor miss. Irish fans descended into levels of delusion and arrogance.

Looking forward to tonight’s game, think the neutral would prefer to see the flair of the French make it through but think the boks make it into an arm wrestle and get the job done. Winner tonight wins the tournament I think. Have my doubts that New Zealand can put together another 80 mins like that when last night was their first real performance in two years.

They deserve a bit of puffing out their chests and bigging it up after 800 years of oppression.

Its just a pity they ran into 1) a pack of English bigots reffing the game and 2) the miraculous defending of Jordie Barrett.

Dave, I’ve got Irish descent as most of us from Liverpool have. You are being inflammatory over a game of rugby ffs.

LOL. You are insane.

Most people are saying they made some very odd calls in that game last night. The biggest night in Irish rugby history.

If those officials are from France or Wales or wherever Ireland are into the SF.
