Marion Barry did just that.Credibility. Would an ex-smack head be voted in as a politician? Of course not.
The "comedian" bit is equally as irrelevant/relevant

How dare he charge people money? What kind of monster writes things and expects people to pay for it?
Fairly sure he said profits of the book goes towards a rehab centre.
I know it isn't.Oh dear.
Pointing out that he's using capitalism to tell people he dislikes capitalism isn't accusing him of being a monster.
So is you going to work and getting paid... Hes using capitalism to fund a charity. No problem there...I didn't say otherwise - but even if he did, it's still capitalism.

By what other manner is there left to get a message across that doesn't connect with capitalism?I didn't say otherwise - but even if he did, it's still capitalism.
I'm not suggesting he's done anything wrong - I'm suggesting that him using Capitalism to sell his message of anti-capitalism is slightly ironic. After all, he has the wealth to give his book away for free if he wished.By what other manner is there left to get a message across that doesn't connect with capitalism?
Capitalism is a web that uses any and every opportunity to make profit, regardless of consequence. There is an art in using it to highlight its inadequacies.

The fact that he's using the profit for good is excellent, but it kind of highlights why his very broad damnation of capitalism is short sighted.[/QUOTE
Disagree on the short sightedness, think he is well aware of any irony, having been hollywood lite for so long and knowing how that game is played out I reckon he's took advantage of the realisation it's all he knows.
He does seem to be the Icke du jour which is a great shame because the central message and theme of what he propses is quite laudable
I really like him, he may not have all the answers, but what he says is right, with what is going on.
He will be ridiculed and dragged through the media over it all.....which is exactly what he is talking about. Propaganda at its best (or worst).
He keeps on like this, and I can see a plane crash or car accident in the not too distacnt future.
Does the argument always have to be a
