A lot of people liking you is not necessarily the best barometer of talent, and in this case him being talented is going to be very subjective so probably best just to leave it at that.
 
I didn't realise that they were having a go at Russell for paying rent to someone who was a tax-dodger. Thought the accusations were that he was tax dodging. Pathetic that. I'm not going to read the story but calling someone a hypocrite for not investigating the status of their landlord's taxes is laughable. I don't think it makes me a hypocrite to think Amazon should pay a correct amount of tax even if I buy things off there

yeay, yeah i know....i mean in comparison to other 'celebs' he is at least famous for what hwe is done and not appearing in reality tv/sex tape , eating a mooses vagina etc etc
 
He's famous because he's popular

He got his first break as a presenter and the people elevated him to his current level of fame because they obviously liked him

He's a nobody as much as anyone on TV is a nobody.

Just to clarify, I liked your post because of the highlighted part, not because I think he's a tosser lol I don't agree with some of what he says but you can see he's a nice guy who cares a lot about important issues.

Nope they printed something about him and jemima Khan who was his then girlfriend , I genuinely can't remember what but it might have been over a masseur ? Im guessing as it was clearly unimportant pish but he gave the cash to the Justice campaign and I think they publicised it sometime later .

As regards his rent protest I can see why the journalist asked the question but because Brand has wealth the media are effectively attacking him as if he can't sympathise with those less wealthy. The people behind the protest seem grateful for his support , he has a right to support them doesn't he ? The fact that he's a tenant of a similar landlord doesnt prelude such support for me . if he was such a landlord himself then he'd definitely deserve heavy criticism but plenty of others in privileged positions don't seem interested in anything but themselves so i'm not such we should criticise him for apparently being bothered about others.

Intersting but Brand has also taken advantage of such tax schemes, me I am not paid enough to be able to afford that kind of fiddling and like many am on PAYE.
