Garbutts biggest issue is that he's thrid in the queue for LB position

Garbutt is an excellent attacking fullback, good technique, wonderful dead ball skills as he's shown for Cheltenham and Colchester(?) but he just isn't the greatest defender, switches off, poor marker.
Kennedy is a good dribbler, fairly quick and decent finisher, but his teamwork needs improving a lot, selfishness isn't so bad when you're Ronaldo, but when you don't have the skills like him, attempting to take on 4 men and doing a Jimmy McFadden just exposes you as a poor player.
Lundstram has a the passing and the vision, and the stamina and workrate to boot, but you could watch a game where you won't notice he's on the pitch if you believe what a lot of his loan club fans say.
Kennedy reminds me a bit of Delofeu actually
Similar in that he likes to run at a defence but can give it away sometimes and doesn't quite look for the pass
I can see Martinez liking his style though
Are these not things that can be ironed out with experience though?
He hasn't got anywhere near the pace of Del, so is nowhere near as dangerous
Bryan tho.I can see Garbutt getting some games actually if Martinez wants to rest Baines
I think it's best if we just close down the academy. Nobody will make it to the first team and its too expensive to run.
Don't like to give it the bigguns and pretend I know everything, but there's lots of indicators you can use; their youth upbringing at 16-17-18 years old, their physical stature, mental decision making, technical skills.
Duffy isn't comfortable with the ball, he's slow, immobile, but great height and a good header. He isn't composed enough.
Browning, I'm not sure why they like him so much to be brutally honest. Was an average rightback for the U18s, good athlete, poor technical skills for a fullback; crossing, dribbling etc. Was tormented by Raheem Sterling a couple of times. Again like Duffy, doesn't make the right decisions as often as he should. He's in the same year group as Stones/Barkley..... you can see the difference yourself.

Think we need to wait to see how well he recovers from his injury.Physically I'm sure he'll be fine but the unknown is the psychological effect of such a bad break. We may see more of Garbutt than we think.Bryan tho.
3rd choice fullback is a bit rough. I suppose if someone gets injured he may see some time. I wouldn't be surprised to see him get subbed on once or twice either.
Maybe against absolutely gash sides in Europe/Cups? I don't think he can jump ahead of Oviedo in the LB queue...and frankly I wouldn't want him to.
