He will certainly start, just not sure how deep he will go into the game but 60 minutes will be fine
The issue is having anyone on the bench to change the game, I suppose.

We are literally only stocked in one area atm and that's CB, so wouldn't be surprised to see a 5 at the back with a 'fluid' front three of no striker, with Rondon to come on around the 60-70 min mark.

I'm honestly running on very little faith they will. I don't doubt Moshiri's intent, but at the top of the club we're a mess.

Benitez could well be the man to keep things steady, and it will take time, but we're constantly going to be playing catch up and that's not going to change any time soon. And if it does go wrong, we've again put ourselves in the situation of signing players that a manager specifically wanted, which shows the DoF model just isn't being utilised as it should be.

I just dont fume anymore mate - football is geared to the ESL clubs now be a massive stroke of luck if Everton achieve anything regardless of who the owner or manager is.

I just want to see some effort on the pitch and we win more than we lose. Stressing and fuming over things we have no control of does nothing look at Newcastle fans and Mike Ashley.

If it consumes you that much just walk away is my advice (not to you personally just fans in general).

With the way a lot of our contracts run, we have an opportunity next summer to really change the dynamic of the squad. If we have to take a bit of pain to get into a position where we can spend again and revamp the squad, then we need to take it on the chin.

agree with that

That being said - Townsend (2 years, option for a 3rd), Rondon (2 years, option for a 3rd).

The Townsend one, surely a 2-year deal would have sufficed? Rondon, again, surely a 1 year+ option or just a flat out 2-year would be fine?

I'm worried it just kicks the can down the road again on older players. That being said, Townsend won't be on huge wages.

I'm expecting him to start......

On the buffet around 6.30pm and be ready for mains around 7.30pm.

Quick visit to the bog, dump and ready to give his all for a full 8 minutes before he's blowing out of his arse again.

Only joking as well, hope he does well and gets off the mark tonight.

Hope he saves enough room to gobble up all his chances. Yum yum.

perhaps not, but he is clearly not playing for free either. to suggest a professional at premier league level needs time to get fit is an absolutely astonishing statement to make.
There is fitness and then there is match fitness.
All of these players have a level of fitness that the ordinary person could not even think of but being match fit and ready to play in the premiership is another level again.

That is why we have pre season training, why we have practice and challenge games of increasing difficulty during pre season.

It takes time to get match fit... no matter who you are.

On top of that Rondon has a strong physical build which probably means it will take him that bit longer to get up to speed.

I think Rondon will be on £100-130k a week. Townsend around £70k a week.

Townsend should have been 1 year, Rondon shouldnt have been signed, like Lonergan.

The options are club options so dont really bother me.

I would honestly be shocked if Rondon is on that much mate.

The only reports I've seen are 90k but really not sure they're reliable either
