Well he did play in 20 league games. I'm not saying he's the best striker we've ever had - but I can certainly name some previous expensive first choices who he's at least on a par with.

Think that's more just to get him minutes incase we don't get the additional forward we want and Dele is more flexible so can move positions. If its a case of coming on for 10 mins at end of a game, I anticipate it being Dele that is used.

So didn’t really contribute much; well he did make a needless challenge in a must win game against Brentford that resulted in him being sent off. Putting us more under the cosh
He may have played 20 games but he didn’t “help us stay up”
He and others are a massive part of why we nearly went down . Almost every other striker in the league would have been better and contributed more than him if they played for us in his place
He's good for the cups against lower league opposition to give Dom a breather. That's it.

Rondon is not the reason we nearly went down.
There's several others much more culpable - but even then - it's not their fault that they are not good enough and were still selected.
He cost no fee and was only ever a back up to DCL. Doesn't deserve the hate imo.
On good wages though .... he was playing lower league football in China & Raffa gave him a two-year loan deal his wages cost us ....

Mate he was not fit for half the season , was crap and couldn’t play more than 20 minutes a game right up until the final 5 games or so.
He scored no goals , didn’t win us any games and his lack of quality meant he wasn’t even able to relieve the pressure on our defence and get us up the pitch

He is still more productive than Cenk Sandro Davy Gbamin etc. Like I say - an option from the bench who is an international who cost no fee.
We need another first team striker of course - but with 5 from the bench he is still likely to be an option until we have the money to improve.
Christ - sounds like I'm running his fan club - but I don't see why he is picked on so much unless it's cos the fat man signed him.
He is okish can fill a gap as you say .... thats about it .....
