2021/22 Salomón Rondón

Zero chance of that. The same idiots were slating McNeil and Tarky before they had even kicked a ball in an Everton shirt.

Like ale the internet brings oot the worst in some people.

Myko got judged after about 45 minutes of his first game for us. Some of the most ridiculous comments I’ve ever seen on here, all agenda driven of course. Suspiciously quiet when he was volleying in at the King Power and performing like a warrior every game in the run in.

McNeill and Tarkowski I’m surprised about because Benitez didn’t buy them so the trolls should have no reason to root against them from the off but some of them are so desperate for their pat on the head from Neville and Carragher at sky that unless we’re buying 60 million pounds German or Spanish 22 year old wide forwards who are also wanted by the top 6, then they’ll just whinge about whoever we buy.

In terms of effort to talent ratio, Rondon is nowhere near being the problem in this squad. If some other players had his humility and desire to work for the team and follow instructions then we’d be in a far better position as a club.

What a really weird post.

I agree. Rondon is effective in a limited role. The problem last season was that, partially from necessity and partially from bull-headed-ness, FSW overexposed him, badly.

I saw Rondon up close in the second half against Arsenal in Baltimore. Balls came into him and he held them up against pressure from their CBs. He went up for aerial duels and went in for 50-50 balls. He was decent at those things, I wouldn't play him week in, week out for 90. I'm not happy with him as our second forward or even our third. As a role player, as someone to come in and jostle with defenders in the last 10-15 minutes, I'm ok with that, he works hard.

What a really weird post.
I didn't think it was particularly weird when you compare it to about 75% of the rest of GOT content lol

People were judging Mykolenko after his first game (Hull, If memory serves) and a fair few even took that idiotic tale of the imaginary Duncan conversation as gospel.

Go back through the Tarkowski/McNeil threads. The naysayers far outweigh those willing to look at the positives. We'll moan long and hard about players we're linked with, usually for no other reason than we've actually heard of them.

But anyway, as its the Rondon thread, the last paragraph is correct. You cannot fault his application and effort. He's never cried off a challenge and always appears to be doing his best. The fact that his best is likely no longer good enough for the Premier League isn't his fault.

I'm sure if another forward comes in the club will do there best to find a solution for him to move on. No ill feeling from me. (loads towards the fella who signed him, despite me being more than willing to give him a chance)

Biggest worry was how out of shape (fat) he was when he arrived, basically took until the end of the season to get remotely into proper condition, for me that's just a lack of professionalism from any athlete whose not already in semi retirement mode.

Did he try hard, yup, did his condition mean he wasn't able to produce the way he could have, yup too.

One year left, if someone offered us anything take it for him, otherwise third choice and if he starts putting on the cheeseburger weight again make him play in the Under 21s until he drops the weight again.

Him and fb92 straight back to their widely incorrect assumptions.

Making out like it's because people don't like benitez, and its the same fans who wrote off myko etc. I'd love to see some proof.

I've written off rondon because he has been majorly crap at playing football for us.

Yet I haven't once written off myko, Patterson, mcneil, tarks.

Yet, they talk about agendas as they both come on and have conversations about others having agendas repeatedly as they continue to talk about benitez.

The fact that he plays for us just shows how low we sunk last season.

As mentioned above, looked overweight when he arrived showing complete lack of professionalism.

No idea why anybody feels the need to make excuses for him, he shouldn’t and wouldn’t have been here under any other manager than Benitez, but now we are stuck with him as a result.
