We were getting two injuries a week all season last season. 5 weeks into this one and we have 5 first teamers including somehow our goalkeeper, out for several weeks each already. I don’t understand how people can’t see there’s an issue with our fitness/conditioning regime.

We do look fitter in games so I guess the fitness coach RB has brought in is having an impact

The clubs fault but totally unprofessional from this guy to have turned up so out of shape.

I mean tbf he's been working all summer just in Spain with a trainer. I doubt he's been on the ale and pies for four months.

Issue is, he's 32, so that natural stamina isn't going to be what it was at 26/27. He's also played in very poor leagues (sporadically too, due to COVID) for the last two years.

It's on the club for spending all summer chasing him.

Be interesting to know what wages he is on, presumably its a wedge as there was no signing fee. 2 year deal as well.

It should be noted on record that both the boots and the kit should be absolved of any recrimination here.

I would guess the plan was to ease him in and get him up to fitness.
Injuries have put that to bed.
But for a club like Everton to be so short in so many key areas is not a great. Esp when employing someone like brands to make sure this isnt a huge problem.
