Accounting for his fitness, I know the call was to have him start cos he's our only striker. But in a game that can quickly become tense, I'd much rather not start with a striker and have him come on in the second half to change the nature of our attack. Unless he's going to bang in two goals in the first half, I think he's more valuable in the last 30mins than the first 60.

I think yesterday was effectively what he was bought for. He was supposed to be able to come in and be a focal point so we could still play the same way when DCL was out, but he just isn’t fit enough to do it. People always talk about him being bought as a sub but I don’t think that was really the plan, he just isn’t the type of player who makes an impact off the bench.

He got sent v Brentford with a few games to go last season so Missed the last few games .So unless he got injured during the summer and I missed it he has no excuse not to be fit for 90 minutes. But like we all know it’s a farce that’s he our striker FFS
