Yeh I get what your saying but footballers are on mega money as it is and but imagine having to play in bloody China in the Chinese league lol

To be fair, I’d welcome him very much as the back up striker as I think he’ll get a few goals, it’s all about the wages with this one though!

I remember listening to a radio show with Danny Murphy of all people who did the same, a few years back. Basically rubbished the idea he would go to China, then someone said what if it was for the same job twice the pay and he said maybe, and treble the pay he seriously considers it. Probably the same with anyone really.

I think for me, if I got an offer at treble the pay, with certain guarantees I would almost certainly move. I could essentially retire within 7 or 8 years. I think most people would move at 3 and almost certainly at 4 times their pay.

I agree when players are in their prime but tbf he was about 29/30 so a big payday is understandable.

I thought he was pretty good for West Brom. Quick and direct. If it happens then it’s hardly the most inspiring signing, especially considering his age. But our two outfield signings have been good so far. Hopefully he can make an impact.

He's a very good player. Vastly underrated. It's not as if he's gonna be a starter, although he will challenge DCL. Outstanding at holding it up and linking play. Won't be many better players we could get to play second fiddle to DCL.

He genuinely seems like an absolute brilliant fella as well. He'll be good for the dressing room.

Would be more than happy with this signing.
