Transfer Rumour Salomon Rondon.

So we're getting rid of a lad who was good enough for PSG, is good enough for Juventus but isn't good enough for us just to replace him with Salomon kin Rondon
We're getting rid of a lad who didn't want to be here, wasn't going to get a game ahead of DCL, didn't perform (for a multitude of different reasons) at all whilst in a blue shirt, a player for whom we'll ultimately receive €35m, which can be reinvested in a reliable player who actually adds value to the team in terms of goals and assists.

Rondón, on the other hand, is a reliable and effective backup, coming in on a short-term deal with minimal outlay necessary. He matches the archetypal Everton '9' - strong as an ox with tremendous hold-up and linking play, giving us an option off the bench that Kean so far hasn't demonstrated at all.

Unless you're a man utd etc. you will never keep lots of alpha players happy. Kean came here expecting to start but DCL decided to use that kick up the arse to start scoring. Are you dropping Richarlison or DCL for Kean? In which case he has to go and someone who is happy to play a back up roll has to come in.

Most of those games under Silva, why don't you post the stats for DCL under Silva then we can all have a laugh at how high he set the bar
Rondon scored 11 goals in 32 appearances for Newcastle. In the same number of appearances for Everton, Kean scored 2.

And that’s just the raw stats of it. It says nothing of how much the guy clearly hated his time at Everton, and how unwilling he was to make it work.

Kean may end up doing well in his career, but Everton wasn’t for him. It’s pretty difficult to argue otherwise, but by all means you fill your boots.

A few years ago maybe, he's now 32 and is not a top level striker, not like we are bringing in an ageing superstar, he's just a clogger and at 32 after 2 seasons in a tin pot chinese league, I'd rather not.
I don't expect many goals from him but others may benefit from the havoc his physicality might cause.

At this very moment in time, DCL has a broken toe, if he doesn't let that heal we will lose him for a period, are you happy 32 yr old Rondon who isn't particularly prolific is the starting 9? Take into account we have already lost James goals and assists(probably) and Gylfis goals and assists, we are desperately hoping Gray finds consistency fingers crossed he does but we'll struggle for goals in my humble opinion.

Aren’t we link with the American lad not so long ago? Cost 2.5m? On cheap wages?

rondon will expect sign on fee + higher wages.

I don’t understand the obsession with rondon in this forum.

We haven’t lost those, Gray is already only 1 behind his open play total for last season and we’ve found alternative penalty and corner takers.

Press reporting it's a strain no breaks involved. You got any suggestions for a realistic candidate for backup?

You're going off last season. He's done much much better numbers than that and Gray never has. Crack on if you think Rondon is a good signing, we all have opinions.
