Thanks mate but how come my view?

I try and sit on the fence as best as I can...

Personally I think it's an appointment made through at best fear, at worst, board ineptitude. In reality it's probably somewhere in the middle.

I think the boards confidence currently isn't too far away from the players and there's some fear that we could go into absolute free-fall with relegation a real risk, but the board have been inept in handling the transition from Koeman.

It's abundantly clear Allardyce was never near the top of the boards list and I think we should have kept Koeman, sacked week 9 - we're now week 14, until we had a better idea of who could come in and replace him. For me it's another sign that the board don't know their arse from their elbow. I'd love (and expected) Moshiri to change the old guard and make sweeping changes but it doesn't look like it's going to happen so I hope he's here just to brush up before Usmanov comes in and we see significant change. Long shot...

The only saving grace I cling on to is, Allardyce knows the league better than most who we could have brought in and we start to build for next season now, I hope the board intend to change it on the final day of the season no matter how well he performs.

The board's ineptitude of firstly - not completing the spending spree in the summer with a few key additions and two, not replacing Koeman swiftly and decisively, has led to our current predicament (fear of relegation).

It's not Sam, or the appointment, I'm massively disappointed in. It's the fact that the board just lack any gumption or direction and Moshiri, BK, Elstone, that Russian fella and Walsh are all to blame.

Good appointment. Let's back this brave decision and begin turning this around.
COYB

I wouldn't call it 'good'.

It's necessary, because the board let the situation go on for so long.

This (even if it was Sam) could have been done 4 weeks ago and we'd have been 4 weeks better off - because as I keep saying, that's how long it'll be until we start to see any real upturn in results imo.

Dyche. Tuchel. Silva (I know we went for him obviously) would have been good appointments. But they (well, the first two, definitely) could have been done over a month ago.

Instead the club let it drift and we got worse in that time, and people need to realise we now aren't worth the gamble to those managers.

Fingers cross Sam's record of never going down doesn't get Everton'd. This season, as depressing as it is, is now about making sure we stay up.

It's crap. It's abysmal. But it's what it is.

At this moment in time, and after watching the last 2 capitulations, sam and his team are exactly what we need. This squad of overpaid pansies need a massive no nonsense kick up the ass as they are better than what they have been showing.
That game on Sunday saw players heads drop, not trying, and trying to get off the pitch and not be involved. If that’s the types of characters we have in the squad then they should not be considered for first team duties. Sam and his team will weed them out and not stand for any of the nonsense we have been putting up with.
Was he in my top ten of managers to get? Absolutely not.
After watching recently, I’m afraid he is probably what we need instead of some sexy foreigner cutting his teeth in this league.

I’ll accept sam and his team now, and if we stay in the league then he is worth his composting get rid of him so we can get a long term replacement in.
Weirdly, if he takes us down he’s probably best place to get us back up.

It is a essential that we stay in this league to realise our ambitions. This step is as close we can get to making that happen as we’re a disgrace right now.

I’ll be applauding him from the stands tonight. As I would any new everton manager.

Silva and Fonesca would both have joined. Their clubs didn't want them to leave halfway through the season - quite understandably.

Dyche, had we acted swiftly, would have been different.

He has a buy-out clause. Five weeks ago I think he'd have jumped at the chance to join us. Right now, no chance he would - it's too big of a gamble for him. So = Sam.

Think you are right about Dyche - he would have been there like a shot if he had been offered the job before Silva.

It's a grey day. It's a very grey day.

Despite the reports, I prayed that he was being used as a smokescreen. Prayed that we hadn't really sunk this low. Prayed that it was all some sort of sick joke. Surely we wouldn't?
Well now we have. I am not looking forward to the next 18 months .

The ONLY good to come out of this is that I expect nothing now, so every point we win will be a bonus.

My take on this whole situation is the following.

'If you don't laugh you'll cry'

So i'm going to have a Chicken & Leek Cuppa Soup and forget all about it till tonight. Nothing nobody can do about it so lets just get behind the lads on the pitch and get ourselves out of this mire we find ourselves in.
