Spot on from Ferdinand - the majority of Everton fans are detached from reality - need to get real:

This country is full of terrible pundits. Allardyce doesn't have a clue of how to set us up against the top 6, there's no consistency there. A middle two of schneiderlin and Rooney against powerful, skillfull players. I mean come on, he's taking the piss, surely?

As far as I can make out Ferdinand ,and by extension your good self are saying that Everton are a bottom of the table club and should be grateful to achieve a mid table position and we fans should aspire to nothing better, ever.
Coming from an odious cockney-manc it's risibly inconsequential, being agreed with by an Evertonian is shameful.

How far we have fallen when one of the main headlines on the Everton website is "Allardyce: Players Worked As Hard As They Possibly Could" and the first sentence of it is "Sam Allardyce praised his players for “working as hard as they possibly could” but admitted “you can only admire” Manchester City after the runaway league leaders secured a 3-1 victory at Goodison Park on Saturday."

The only player on the field yesterday that even attempted to try and press and get the ball off a City player was Tosun and he was substituted in yet another completely baffling 'like for like' sub when we needed goals and hence 2 strikers. The rest of them where not even the slightest bit interested. Just sat back and let the best team in the league have the ball and thus record a record embarrassing possession statistic at a ground that used to be known as one of the most difficult places for teams to come.

The club is an absolute disgrace and do not deserve to be supported currently. Massive changes are needed from top to bottom and the first change needed is to get this overpaid defensive defeatist clueless tit head out of the club before he does any further damage.

It shows just how out of touch with reality these pundits are.

And as you say Eggy, having those comments endorsed by one of our own is a sad reflection on where we stand right now.

You need some back up Kev.

Calling @davids

I don't defend him I've just asked countless times,at the time we sacked Koeman who else could we realistically have appointed who had experience of dealing with a hapless Premier League squad. There are countless posters who choose to go with the rather adolescent gravy guzzler insults without ever coming up with a realistic alternative. But then if his appointment allows people to work out their life frustrations insulting him,the salary he's paid has to be money well spent.

It’s not spot on. It’s quite the opposite.

If his theory is correct why did he move from West Ham? To better himself. Why did he move from a Champions League team like Leeds? To better himself. It’s only when he reached the very top with United that he was happy. Why on Earth should it be any different for us as fans?

Ferdinand is a leach and is loathed by many fans because of his betrayal but he can sit in his ivory tower and ask us to get back in our overly ambitious box?

Jog on.

Pretty surprised by the venom towards Alladyce...
He picked us up in 18th
We were in 13th
Added Walcott and Tosun who are coming good.
True
Cleared out some dross / underperformers / needed more experience e.g. Mirallas / Besic & Sandro / Lookman
Literally all of those players are back at the end of the season
Moved us to the fringe of Europe.
Nope
Surely let's drop the angst and rev the team up... Europe here we come :)
Lol

I expected him to go with Davies, Schneiderlin and Baningime yesterday, with a low block. Goodison would have hated it (shouts of PUT A FOOT IN would have been rife) but with Walcott and Bolasie wide you've always got a chance of a counter.

Sam sent the team out with a lowISH block but with no legs to put a foot in. Playing Rooney and Schneiderlin together was borderline tactical suicide. And DCL in there too?! Christ. Lambs to the slaughter.

I was sat on the GS and watched Bolasie miss that chance. Crowd stirred. Then I see Rooney going nuts for the hugh press on the goal kick. Jags followed suit. So we are sat on the edge of the City area. Ederson shrugs his shoulder and bypasses the bodies to Jesus (I think) and now City are in our half and we don't have the lefs to get back. City have Sane and Sterling.

The most worrying thing is (amongst lots of issues), why have we got two different tactical methods being used? Was that Allardyce? Was that Rooney? If was the former, he's proven himself to be absolutely clueless.
If it's Rooney, why is he doing it? Why is Allardyce not reigning him in? Did Rooney think we were lambs to the slaughter so took it upon himself?

Obviously we will never know. Personally I think it stinks of Allardyce's "go out there and give it your best" method of managing. If it's not a team of grocks at the bottom of the league, he's completely out of his depth.

Can't even fathom what a full season will be like.
