There is no way will he be here next season lads. Too much has happened especially the last couple of weeks. We are way past the point of no return now. A very boring and awful to watch 1 - 0 win at home against a very poor Newcastle side (poor on the night) with Allardyce coming out afterwards and calling it excellent is going to do nothing to change that, it will only reinforce it. Every time the camera looked over at Moshiri, his face was expressionless and he looked he was struggling to stay awake just like the rest of Goodison.

His ship has sailed and the club will make an announcement in the next week or so saying he will be leaving at the end of the season and thanks and good luck etc.

I have to disagree, Lob :(

I am resigned to the fact he will be here at the start of the season anyway.

He is doing exactly what Moshiri wants of him.

Winning the “expected wins” and safeguarding his investment.

That the matchday experience has become a penance for lifelong supporters is of no import to either Sam or Moshiri.

This is why the fat buger feels empowered enough to insult anyone at the club he cares to.

Him and Moshiri are happy with each other.

I am fully expecting a one year extension to his contract:blush:

Rubbish, you obviously did not go and your son needs a pair of better glasses. Newcastle came nowhere near beating us. Two poor sides, of which we were the better side until MOM Schneids had to go off. Bringing Davies on starting us losing the ball too often. The atmosphere was OK and far from horrendous. No demos, no anti Allardyce chanting and Newcastle fought hard to defend with 10 men and could have got away with a 0-0 draw.
Disagree about the atmosphere, it was flat , even for Goodison. I could hear the players clear as day for long periods relatively speaking.
But it was end of season and a dispiritingly poor match and it's a long time since Goodison rocked.
Luckily the Geordies made the effort to pretend this match had any relevance.

OK so disagreement about the atmosphere but presumably satisfaction that the predictors of mass booing, demos, and anti manager chants, fans holding zero placards etc etc were totally absent making an arrrse of those idiots who were eagerly anticipating it. They must be dissappointed. gone quiet. Three hard games games to go and Sam has gone, pay him off and we move on. Otherwise no decent players will sign for us for next season if he stays.

There were at least 2 banners in the crowd and I think a third too.

The atmosphere was complete apathy bordering on boredom.

I'm just back from the game and if you thought the atmosphere was "OK" then it is you who obviously didn't go. It was as dead as I've heard the place until the last 10 minutes when we were under siege and the crowds anxiety levels picked up.

I guess my assessment of OK was mainly based on relief that the predictions of open hostility made by some did not happen. So I settled for what did happen which was passive support. hence the OK. A lot around me stayed to clap the blue players at the end. I just joined the queue to get out. There was probably more fun outside with the crazy Geordies that during the game itself. They are still celebrating staying up.

Well that was the 1st game i've been to this season, cost me £11 an i was bored as hell, The crowds biggest shout was Pickford taking the piss, the game was awful, Newcastle where terrible and we had plenty of the ball and did nothing with it. I was so bored i forgot we won

On radio Merseyside they asked him about his position and Moshiri, he paused for about 10 seconds before answering.

Atmosphere was terrible, was not OK, the lack of Allardyce shouts where more about the fans not arsed then anything else.

I was in the lower Glaydis(spelling) street and for 20 minutes of the 2nd half the little kid behind me ran between 5 empty seats singing the same song over and over, no one sang, a few Everton shouts. i have empty seats next to me

If he stays on for next season then it will say a lot about this “new era”. Didn’t even care that we won, that sounds awful I know but I can’t help it. It’s not just Asteroid head that’s ruined my enthusiasm, it’s the club itself too.

I long for the day better people are at this club to really take it forward and reach some of its potential.
