He has 2 runner up UEFA cup honours - so I stand by MY opinion that after 40 years as a manager he has a crap record. His England record was laughably poor.

He got Switzerland to the World Cup for the first time, won the league umpteen times in Sweden(?) That's just from memory. He suffered the same negative over reaction at the RS that Sam is getting at Everton. A few Evertonians want to get off their high horses and be realistic....and that's nothing about accepting second best, its about realising were we are now, which is probably 7th in the League....we are not relegation fodder,we are leading the chase of the 'top six' .The lamest 'excuse' ever that I have ever heard for 'achieving' 7th is that the league is very poor. Whenever we win, its not because we score more goals than the opposition and concede less than them, its because we were lucky, but whenever we lose its because we have no bottle. You can't have it both ways unless you are agenda driven rather than basing your opinion on common sense. Of course a top of the tree manager with attacking flair would be welcome, but if its possible to guarantee anything its this...... if one of the new breed of attack minded fancy dan foreign coaches had come in after Koeman, we would be in a worse state than we are now.
IF Sam is around for the transfer window, I;m sure he will make a better fist of it than Koeman did. By the end of next season we could be challenging, with a new manager coming in with the basis of a good team.
We shouldn't expect everything all at once. Consolidation is a form of progress, just for starters.

For me it is the lack of clarity from the club which has caused so much talk about Sam or whoever the manager will be.

If it was officially confirmed that he is staying I think the majority of Evertonians who did not want Sam will accept it for the one season it will be and will look on to see what players he buys and what players he sells and hope that the club does not fall further behind in that time.... I think that may account for a large number of fans.

There are some that would not accept Sam if he won the premiership with the club next season and never wanted before he came and will never be prepared to give him a chance... I think that may be a minority.

The lack of confirmation days from the end of the season is the only thing that tells me that maybe it is not a done deal yet.... although realistically it is more than likely he will be here.

I think if it were Silva was the choice to replace him that would be known by now. I think we may have asked about managers like Emery and are waiting to see if there is any interest before committing to Sam.

I think that it will take the appointment of a high profile manager to get Sam to leave.

It seems strange but there seems to absolutely nothing at all leaking from the club about this.
Even Sam has been somewhat guarded about his comments until he was forced into saying he was staying.. but what else could he say.
Again I think you’re a million miles off With the minority shout.

A lot of the fans that have part accepted him this season, are the one who have been worried over relegation, I never thought we would get relegated abd would have had my house on us staying up with koeman or unsworth in charge.

Next season the majority of the fans will have a totally different mind set. And won’t be thinking let’s get to 40 points, I read today sam best points haul in the prem is 47. And will want to see us push on, try and win every game, not going To the bottom sides and shutting up shop. Giving up before we even play the top 6.

But if it’s the same turgid garbage getting served up except the fans to turn very quickly.

It's not just the diabolical or the negative football, it's his utter disdain for Everton fans and self preservation since Christmas. If he stays it won't end well either.

Contracts mean very little let's be honest he can be sacked whatever the contract. The decision to keep him would be a big mistake though.
