That's absolute nonsense.

The team has no left back (or a finished baines), no goalscoring centre forward and was devoid of confidence when he arrived to speak with the players prior to the West Ham game.

The first step was to make the team hard to beat and improve confidence...the next step is to sort out left back and then work on the players further forward.

Why even think about changing a manager when he's getting such fabulous results?

WBA and Bournemouth next...I couldn't care less how we play, I WANT 6 POINTS.

This 100%

Correct. But that shouldn't mean we accept less than that. We cant have a Rule 1 that says "get 40 points each season and keep it tight"

Yea, I agree.

Mind you, I also think things like NSNO can be taken too literally sometimes. What we can reasonably expect, is for the manager, and the players to do their best, and their best might not be "the best". We can reasonably expect better football from them, but there's a big gulf in quality between our players and that Chelsea side, so expecting great football today would be unrealistic.

We kept a clean sheet and scored 4 and played with some style against WHU. Now anyone after the last 5 PL matches who still believe that WH result and game plan was down to SA have been made to look a bit daft.

He's effective at what he does, of course. I knew he would be, tbh.

His Bolton side's played great stuff, as did his West Ham team with Valencia and Sakho on top form. If the circumstances are right (good enough resorces) he will do it again. He's not a Pulis type who will play dull rubbish even if he had the MSN trio.

Rule 1 is to be a success and win things.

There are no other rules for Everton.

The only person who looked daft after West Ham was Unsworth after Rooney showed the folly of leaving him out for the last few games.

:coffee::coffee::coffee:

Exactly. SA has never won any. There's a reason for that.

The fact is that Allardyce spoke with the players before the west ham game. We don't know what was said.

We have since gone unbeaten for 7 games.

We'd all love to be playing total football and giving teams a masterclass in the beautiful game...

But with no left back, Williams in defence, no true wingers and copious numbers of players who shouldn't be in the squad we will need to improve step by step.

That's either the Keegan approach or the Allardyce approach.

Bolton were often very good value, the reason hes never won a trophy is due to the clubs hes managed.

Next season with Allardyce I will stick my neck out and say we will be top 4 or very close to it.

Hes an excellent manager....

Wonder what the reaction would be if we hired Simeone instead of Allardyce and played the same with the same results...hes won trophies so be patient.... lol

Simeone doesn't outplay the rich clubs...he Allardyces them.

I accept the thinking in getting Allardyce in: the club owners must have been having kittens about losing PL status, what with their grand stadium and dockland developments.

Once the crisis is over though they have to revert back to an onfield plan that allows a progressive brand of football that's attractive to our own fans and the industry in general.

He knows what he has to do to keep this job. If he finds some football to go with the dogged grafting then he has half a chance. Personally I dont think he knows how to set up a team to win and play well.

If Allardyce delivers us top eight, then he'll, quite rightly, see his contract out and will then be judged on what he does next season.

I hope its a different plan to the one we had this summer!!!!!!

You’d swear there are only two options, this turgid fare or free flowing open football.

There’s a happy medium y’no and we won’t find it under this buffoon.

I pray once some of our players are back from injury and after a transfer window, we start taking more risks and playing some football. Results aside we are getting very painful to watch
