If Allardyce can improve the football from this then we cant complain too much. He's stated a few times now he knows the football side of things possession wise is not good enough and he'll change that. Let's see if he's as good as his word. But it is an appalling standard of play since he arrived. It's reverse evolution.

I feel that the failure of the last 18 months of Martinez's time here has led to a gradual re-strengthening of the primitive impulse of many of players and of our fans. Koeman went long way too much and now we have a complete turn away from passing.

The summer has to bring with it a more progressive manager or we are sunk as an ambitious and progressive organisation.

You must be utterly fuming that we are picking up points like this Dave?

Me, I dont care, unbeaten in 7, onwards Sammys Gravys, marching off to war.

That's absolute nonsense.

The team has no left back (or a finished baines), no goalscoring centre forward and was devoid of confidence when he arrived to speak with the players prior to the West Ham game.

The first step was to make the team hard to beat and improve confidence...the next step is to sort out left back and then work on the players further forward.

Why even think about changing a manager when he's getting such fabulous results?

WBA and Bournemouth next...I couldn't care less how we play, I WANT 6 POINTS.

Nope. Delighted when we get a point. But it has to get about 500% better or wtf is the point of football?

its all about successful performances...today was a success due to the gulf in spending and quality.

If we play like Barca and win or play like Atletico and win...who cares?

That was an absolute masterclass in the art of defending today.

Granted, we had jack all going forward, but anyone who can't appreciate the organisation and graft put in to produce such a solid defensive display, especially for a set of players who were leaking goals like it was going out of fashion just a few weeks ago, doesn't understand that there's more to the game than just silky skills.

Well in Samuel Allardyce for instilling a bit of pride in the shirt again.

We kept a clean sheet and scored 4 and played with some style against WHU. Now anyone after the last 5 PL matches who still believe that WH result and game plan was down to SA have been made to look a bit daft.

He's effective at what he does, of course. I knew he would be, tbh.

His Bolton side's played great stuff, as did his West Ham team with Valencia and Sakho on top form. If the circumstances are right (good enough resorces) he will do it again. He's not a Pulis type who will play dull rubbish even if he had the MSN trio.

The only person who looked daft after West Ham was Unsworth after Rooney showed the folly of leaving him out for the last few games.
