A sad and utterly unnecessary day in the history of Everton.

That being said, that 18 month deal for Corrupt Sam has little or no chance of being seen through in its entirety; it shouts from the rooftops that we will be going for a big name again next summer.

Everton and the right-thinking fans will carry on regardless.

Very interesting that there is little or no fanfare on the official tweets, no #welcomeSam rubbish. It's a perfunctory, unpopular appointment for a short blip in the history of our club.

at least now we will have a structure and we all know the game plan.

this last 18 months or more we haven't had any sort of team identity and I don't think any of us could have predicted our formation before any particular game.

I'm looking forward to the ball being moved quickly into attack and no more of this passing around the defence and then back to pickford to hoof it up top. it doesn't get anymore long ball than what we have been watching this tear
