We shouldn't be losing any home games. Our record at home this year is disgraceful. Their should be an inquest every time someone comes to Goodison and beats us. There's an air of acceptance round the club at the minute and it stinks.

But that's just delusional fantasist thinking. Much better teams than us lose home games, like Chelsea and Arsenal, what right do we have to demand we batter everyone at home, let alone with this omnishambles of a squad that we've been delivered? We are one of the "bottom 14" teams in the league at this moment in time, all capable of beating each other. Until a major rebuilding job takes place on this team, that is not going to change and we are all better off getting to grips with it. This is what Koeman has done to us. No one is "accepting mediocrity", it is just reality and we as fans can do sod all about it.

It's how I feel. Mentality is half the battle in this sport. If the club has an acceptance that we lose a lot of games then the fear of losing evaporates. Just look at the amount of crap teams the RS have had come and beat us over the years. They turned up thinking they were going to win and fearing a loss. I don't sense that there is a hatred of defeat at any level within the club.

Allardyce has turned up twice in a row at GP not believing he could win. It's his job to make the players believe they will win regardless of their limitations. It's disgraceful to think that this sort of mentality was headhunted by our board and owner. All the top teams and players are terrible losers, but we are good losers. We don't rock the boat, we just accept it and do nothing for decades.

Ah you see, now you're talking about long term, and I'm talking about this season.

Long term I completely agree with you. There's a losing mentality ingrained in the club and until wholesale changes from the top down occur, that will continue to be the case and I will continue to advocate for those changes.

When discussing this season specifically we just have to play the hand we've been dealt. We are not good enough to go toe to toe with better teams than us, we are crap. The tactics against Bournemouth and WBA I'll agree were unnecessarily cautious and I wasn't pleased with them. But overall, Sam came in with one remit this season - to get us safely to 40 points. Wherever those points come from and however they come, it doesn't matter to me. Once this season is over we draw a fat (pun intended) line under it, lick our wounds and start again with a long term plan.

Miracle sam has hardly pulled us away from danger after folding like a cheap whore at West Brom and Bournemouth.

I’m mean it was only 12 weeks ago when he told the world how he’d “sort us out” through basic training

I think when we are smashed out of the cup on Friday the supporters will likely turn on Sam very quickly. Nobody wanted him here in the first place, he somehow picked up results through a combination of getting the defenders back to basics and a huge, huge run of luck in almost every game we went undefeated, and now we've run out of luck and have drawn one, lost two and will lose again on Friday. The attacking play looks worse than ever, the defending has started being pathetic again and we've more tricky fixtures on the horizon. This could all go badly wrong. I didn't want him, he's done nothing to convince me and I am sure we'll finish very close to the bottom three if at least two first eleven players aren't signed this month.

It's being so cheerful that keeps you going?

The man is a complete and utter fraud. I too am embarrassed that he now occupies the same job held by legends like Harry Catterick and Howard Kendall.
Roll on next August with a decent manager having been in place to make some decent signings over summer.
Surely even Moshiman and Bill aren't so deluded that they believe the fans are happy with the current set up.
The next five months will be a total write off.
