Just looked at his managerial stats he's clearly a stop gap. Not sure I want him beyond the summer if he keeps us up and I think we will stay up simply because there's so much dross that we will pick up enough points, on the other hand we need stability so he will get next season to clear the dead wood and assemble an actual team. His tactics are horrendous though.

Irrelevant, Unsworth was in charge for that game and when it finished we were not 18th. Spin at as much as you want

It is completely relevant. After the 4-1 defeat to Southampton, we were in 18th place and that’s when we offered the job to BS as someone well versed in relegation battles.

The fact Unsworth won his next game is irrelevant. We’d already signed BS up as manager at that point.

I don’t understand your argument. It seems you’re arguing that we were safe and shouldn’t have signed BS, despite us being a 18th and with very worrying performances when we signed him.

My argument is quite simple. We were not 18th

We were 18th when Sam was appointed...

Yep, it felt like they put a performance in when they knew BS was coming in, did little for Unsworth but show he wasn't the right appointment.

I felt watching that game if they had scored the penalty we would have gone on to lose that, they were all over us, it was a good result because at one stage we could have easily lost it. BS is ok for now but longer term he isn't what we need.

Ah well its done now, we are stuck with the fella for at least till the end of the season, so we should maybe review the situation at the end of the season.
The first announcement for renewing the season tickets were broadcast at the match Monday, will be interesting to see how many hold out to see how/if the football improves over the next 4 months and if we do spend big this month you would expect that Sam would be here for next season.

The club are an embarrassment. The season ticket launch comes with the usual emotional blackmail...'Born not manufactured', 'Once Everton has touched you...' nothing new with that other than now they have a dinosaur as a manager. The brand of football is awful and an insult to the long suffering supporters who have been magnificent in the 20+ years since a trophy. Sam Allardyce, my God how on earth has this happened. I'd like to say I don't care anymore but 40+ years is a hard habit to break. The status of the club today has never been so low. The only consolation is that we're not alone football sold it's soul a long time ago.

BMD will drive all ST sales and renewals while we're still at GP. The Club need not worry a jot on that score.

What's this image on the ticket season link?

A lonely Big Sam is exiting through a door, his silhouette is all we can see. The light flowing around his body illuminates a contract for a new manager - only the initials of his name are visible - D S?

Who can it be?

Let the stampede begin for the season tickets. The moment the last early bird season ticket is sold, the image turns into a video; Dodgy Sam is back again next season and the door closes to the guffaws of Sam.

Everton. You bas....

Sam Allardyce says the size and make-up of Everton’s squad has given him the biggest challenge of his managerial career.

The Blues boss believes former boss Ronald Koeman had a “difficult job” in making a revamped group of players gel whilst also juggling an early start to the season.

Everton added eight new players to their ranks in the summer as part of a £150m record spend but also lost top scorer Romelu Lukaku and influential midfielder Gareth Barry.

The Blues’ campaign started in July with a Europa League third qualifying round tie with Ruzomberok and with a number of players struggling to settle at Goodison, the team suffered.

Allardyce is hoping to add a striker and left-sided defender to his squad this month but believes his biggest task is bringing the existing players closer together.

Asked about why Sandro Ramirez has not settled in England, Big Sam replied: “There’s never a guarantee when a top player comes from abroad that he will settle in his first year.

“And certainly not settle when the team isn’t doing very well anyway.

“So every new player that came from abroad would find it difficult to perform to his best level he possibly could when the team struggles in the first place.

“Struggles from having to start in July and having to all integrate together is one of the most difficult jobs as a manager to pull the new players in together with the old players.

“You may have caused a character problem with some of them – you can always have a clash of characters – which you have to be aware of and effectively you have got to manage all that, manage all those different cultures, different religions, different attitudes to playing and training and you’ve got to find a way round all that to bring that squad all together.

“And with the size of this squad that’s a bigger challenge than I’ve had before but one we must strive to do always.”

He`s obviously decided the best way to " bring that squad all together " is to keep them all in their own half and let them take it in turns, to hoof the ball up field.
