Please God tell me he didn't say that. Also, why have Everton played 451 since 2004... Please mix it up, by far the easiest team in the league to set up against.

Of everything that worries me about him i think him saying he was too adventurous today on the back of 0 shots on target has just put the nail in the coffin.

If you're admitting to failing to set us up defensively enough but then still not even getting a shot on target you're simply not good enough for the level we expect to be at.

His stupid fat face, the stupid distorted spin from the media over his irrelevant past ‘achievements’, his stupid arrogance and false sense of entitlement jolted an under performing, uncohesive, distorted and bloated mis-match of professional footballers who have been randomly sourced by four different permant managers to represent our club to initially pretend that their was a consequence to their limited application on the pitch.

So we beat a couple of horrific sides with problems as deep as ours at home, saw us get a winning lotto ticket away In the North East and it felt a means to an ends. However horrible, the reality of him actually being our Manager felt justified if he could conjure the results his stupid quips, stupid mouth microphone, ill fitting suit, open top buttinned shirt and half ragged tie could master.

But he is just part of the problem - the players have seen through him, the fans already had, the board soon will and he’ll go - but we will be left with one shocking team who simply don’t have the basic ingredients of hard work and application to make a difference.

It’s years of mis-management - indifferent bang average players on bloated salaries arriving under the balloon of new Sky Money who are resented by an incumbent generation of indifferent underperforming less wealthy millionaires all pointing the finger at each other.

Somehow we support them still. One of those days when you realise how bad it is, from the stupid fat smirking manager of ours who has landed a job his ability doesn’t serve to a squad of millionaires who aren’t fit at times to wear that badge they represent, to that gluttonous boardroom who take our name to earn their future fortune.

Probably guessed we lost again and it ain’t going to get any easier uNder this regime.

I'm not trying to defend Allardyce or the players here. But purely on the stats in the post quoted at me: what you've done is pulled together about 15 observations (way too few) and leapt to an heroic conclusion. That simply does not pass for comprehensive statistical analysis. It's a single metric. (Why that metric over others to demonstrate the conclusion? Why not a combination of metrics?) The data you've produced is then not analysed with statistical method but is simply asserted. It also abstracts from defensive characteristics, which will be related to the metric you chose. And it abstracts from context. (E.g. Maybe the current balance between attack and defence -- which may lead to a few games with 0 shots on target but on average over the course of the rest of the season may gain us more points -- is the best course of action for this squad?)
Do you want me to do every team since he took over and then every team THAT team played? Because I doubt it would be much different. But, since you are saying it's too small a sample size, I can easily get that together if it would help demonstrate the guy has literally no idea what "attacking" football is. Hell, it barely seems like he knows how to balance a team. That keeps you in a job if you are someone like Pulis and your sole objective is to stay in the league.

Think it's harsh to blame sa for the state of us. He's been left serious legacy issues, an aging centre back pairing, no striker, no pace, a collection of cam, cms that all offer the same type of play. We are crap at the moment but let's not rewrite history, we were crap when we got results under him. The players just aren't up to it. You can see he tries to set us up to be organised and difficult to beat but when the players can't even do the basics what can he do? People say play vlasic, drop Rooney deeper but that makes us even easier to break down. We might create more going forward but would concede even more. Back to the Bobby days which everyone loved.

We've had the same core of the team for too long and they've achieved nothing under 5 managers. Granted this is now the worst we have played in a very long time and that core is finally being phased out but you have to wonder how far that extends and how many of the players need moving on. We need a complete overhaul and I'm not saying that because of one pasting by a very good spurs side I'm saying it because even when we've had good attacking players we haven't achieved anything. There's always been some element of us bottling situations or not capitalising on opportunities when we get them. It's ingrained in this squad still through the likes of jags, Williams, Baines, McCarthy ET Al. They've been good players and good servants to the club but there's a reason they play at everton and not clubs wining things and that extends to players like that being the reason we haven't won anything in 22 years.

One things for sure and that is it's clear our transfer policy under moshiri isn't working. It's failed miserably which is predominantly down to koeman and Walsh. We've spunked a crap load of money on the same types of players, not brought in in the positions that are glaringly obvious and here we are. The fact we are now two games into a January window and are still playing a player who couldn't get into a poor Southampton squad in his preferred position last season, was released by them and we then play him out of position says everything you need to know about the state of our transfer policy. We've had 4 months now nearly 5 with him at lb, everyone can see he's not up to the job and yet there he is, still starting. He's not the sole problem but that's a clear representation of our transfer policy. It's a mess. I do think it's almost an impossible job for Sam as a lot of players will be leaving in the next 6 months. Whether the club let him do the rebuild or bring someone else in will be interesting but I don't think it's all that fair to judge him on this season as the players have been hugely disappointing under 3 managers not just sa. They're massively letting him down and are reverting again to what we saw at the start of the season, no cohesion, failing at basic football, no grit or desire which are the starting points for results and then the togger we all want to see.

Sheesh, I thought it'd take a lot longer for him to lose favour with you guys, but that seems to already have happened!

Shocking statistics really and I don't know if the quotes over the last few pages are true, but it definitely echoes of his time with us, "respect the point" etc

Having said that, I think it's a bit too early to write him off, especially since he hasn't had a window to get his own players in. I think there's a huge hangover from the Dutchman and like us, your confidence can completely dissipate in one moment... a few changes in the dressing room and he should be able to change that.

He's been brought in to do a job, is half way there so should be applauded for that. Top managers weren't exactly clamouring to take the post and you could have easily ended up with a Pardew like manager - in my opinion, the best thing he can do for you is make you solid next season and then move on, getting in a more "attractive" manager who can build on his structure with some more creativity. Kinda like Martinez did, but with more emphasis on keeping goals out.

Bravo, Bravo.

I get your overarching point to an extent except for the bolded part. Name 2 players that played today that have been here under 5 managers.

We don't have 'a core' anymore. With the exception of Jags Baines and Coleman, they are all new players.

The name Sam Allardyce should suggest he's not good enough for the level we expect.

He said that we were too adventerous and, as such, conceeded 4 goals so that he needs to be more defensive minded and "boring"(his words).

We have had 3 shots on target in 5 matches.

Sod the idea of "he needs a window to get HIS players in". I don't want the Van Aanholt's, the Carrols, any of HIS players in past his tenure here.

Why? What did we learn today that we wasn't ready glaringly obvious?
1. Our defence - particularly our full backs - is dodgy. But we're missing the two lads who have held down LB and RB for best part of a decade for us.
2. Our attack - toothless, but ok it new striker showed good signs and we were playing against one of the best teams in the league. We were never going to go out and blitz them.

We are mostly crap, especially against really good sides. But we are good enough to pick up points against mid/lower teams and we will. Today didn't worry me simply because I already knew everything I saw today, other than Tosun, who I like the look of.

Our so-called defensive minded genius has been tonked, yet again. It should be worrying.

10 goals conceded in the last 4. Games building up without a win, let alone a shot on target.

Don't know if anyone has noticed but West Ham and Palace are now 2 points behind us. We're 7 points above the drop zone and we are utterly hopeless.

Worrying.
