We were very un-Fat Sam particularly in the first half. That is a very good thing, will he allow the team to try and win more games, time will tell. But, even though I want the Fat Sam era over and summer can't come quick enough, a win is a win.

Pre Sam, 13th and 5 points off relegation places

30th January, 9th and 5 points off the relegation zone.

...that’s a moot point. I’m convinced Allardyce’s appointment made the difference against West Ham. Also, we could’ve been rock bottom had the change not been made. Indeed, I think we would’ve been bottom given the performance at Southampton.

It really is a misleading stat you quote because we were going backwards.

Well it’s not misleading be because that’s the truth. It’s not an assumption like you’ve made regarding West Ham, it’s actual facts

They were affected by the Mahrez affair.

I'll take three points gladly. If we hadn't got them we'd have been battered at Arsenal and right in a relegation dog fight. But we got lucky with Mahrez etc.

In a sense the pressure is off at Arsenal now......it is a free shot as far as I am concerned.

I had both these games down as “expected losses” with one point, tonight, the best I thought we would do :)

I love it when EFC prove me wrong

COYBB........onwards to Arsenal ;)

I for one have fully embraced the roller coaster of emotions that is this season.

Don't worry lads, if we lose on Saturday we will be back to all being gash again and being relegation candidates. Tonight let the man enjoy his buffet before going two's up on his missus with Sammy Lee.

What the actual hell. So we win a game and now FS will be here longer than his deal? Get a grip. He can’t and won’t take us forwards.

What when arsenal beat us Saturday? Oh sack him then? He needs binning of when he’s done what he was brought in to do and that’s it.
Matty he'll be gone within twenty-four hours of the final whistle of the last game of the season and that was always the plan. He's not getting sack before then and he's not staying beyond then. This is why i cant see the point in calling for him to be sacked now, because it's simply not going to happen. Better just to grit our teeth and deal it.

I never said we were though. No need to employ the oaf and now we are lumbered with him, his fat old entourage and the gal PE teacher leading the way

Yaaay Everton
So it’s taken a lot more than 12 games to get us passing the ball then? We needed a manager, he was available and he’s doing his best to improve the bunch of misfits he inherited. Give him a bit of support, the points he’s winning are important for the club.

Rooney did his best though.
Well, we could easily be here with a terrible draw if the woodwork is avoided or Martina doesn't clear off the line.

Who knows, we might turn a corner. But Arsenal will be horrendous IMO, and then it's back to the drawing board for us.

We shall see. I'll rest a bit easier tonight though knowing we have three points.
