Looking back to the tenures of RM and RK, their style of play tiki taka and experiment with one eye on the Barca job, with Allardyce feel that we will get back to the basics of good sound play, which is what we need.

Very true. I’ll go out on a limb here as well but I honestly think he’ll give us our best derby away performance in years next week (may not be enough for a win but I’m not expecting a hammering anymore). People will be singing a different tune when he squares up to Klopp and takes no crap.

Other club's managers may well sit up and think, darn they have got that toughie Sam to front them.

I am keeping an open mind on this and will support or criticise as the case may turn out.

One thing I will say is why the hell were those players not putting that effort and style into the previous games for Unsy. The situation could have been a hell of a lot different. Think Sam will not stand for any nonsense.

Exactly. Easiest gig the fat cr00k has ever had . He's a disgrace and shouldn't be anywhere our football club. But what do we expect from a cartoon hierarchy presiding over a summer spending 'spree' that left a premier league side without a single proven striker.

Good luck to them, but I won't be going near them until that bloater does one.

Koff Moshiri, koff Everton
Don't forget left back mate. We have an aging left back with a very poor recent injury record. A two game per week schedule up until Christmas, and of the 4 players available to provide cover for the position, 1 was ruled out for the season, 2 were sent out on loan, and the 4th was not included in either the PL or EL squads. Truly criminal.

The appointment of Allardyce is a disgrace, but a bigger disgrace is the incompetence that led to his appointment being acceptable to so many of our fans.

I actually think we'll still get fisted next week but that's due to not having a possible combination of players we can put out that can come close to stopping Salah and Mane. I've had this funny feeling all along that he'll win us the Goodison derby.

Not sure he has enough time with the players before the derby to pull off that miracle, so I won’t be judging him on that personally.

The thought of our of centre halves against those two is the stuff of nightmares :(

I fully expect him to set our whole team up in a wall,on the 18yrd box and play an attack v defence formation for ninety minutes.

Williams will still be good for at least two pens.

Sam allardyce actually quite suits Everton.

there ive said it.

I think he will surprise us all with some performances.

He actually does, especially where we are right now, for some reason we don't have a very knowledgeable fan base so many are dismissing him from the off, which is pathetic really

Barring a miraculous run into the top 6 or a cup win, this.

To be honest, the state of the league currently, this is not beyond the realms of possibility, 6th i mean, deffo 7th should be within range.

Cup run would be an added bonus.

If he clears out the dross and replaces with them with astute signings then who knows, he could be here 18 months and beyond.

he's here for Everton FC. (of course the wages too, but mainly Everton)

he's not here like Martinez or Koeman, with an eye on a bigger job

Allardyce is not looking to woo us with barca / Spanish style tippy bluddy tappy football

Allardye is NOT auditioning for barca or man united.

id like to think its his last opportuinity to win something ... it his BEST opportunity to date.

Allardyce knows the premier league like no other manager barring wenger and ferguson.

He plays the type of football that we as Everton fans are 'normally' used to watching over the last 15 years (moyes's gritty type stuff)

fans dismissing him aren't seeing the bigger picture. yes he has a dodgy past. BUT I would hazard a guess at saying most managers over the last 20 years have bent the rules to suit themselves at some point. Sam Allardyce is NOT the only bad egg I can assure you.

let his results do the talking and forget everything else.
