He cared about his ego which was being massively dented after selling our best players and spending £200+million to create one of the worst squad of players we've ever had.
See above for the distinction I was making. I hardly think he personally engineered the sales of Stones and Lukaku, as for the incomings some if not a majority of the blame has to go to Walsh does it not? You've misrepresented the point I was making so now it sounds like I'm defending the job he did. All I'm saying is he cared about something as opposed to bfs and that he wasn't our worst manager ever.

im sure Everton will crop up in discussions about bad football management for years to come. Koeman has spent what 150m, with players who are now worth a hundred million less than that figure. He has been responsible for a loss on the books of over a hundred million pounds. It will take us twenty years to recover from his tenure

I hate Big Sam but he isn't our biggest problem look to the boardroom and the DOF. Then some of the players. I hope Sam is gone in the summer but our decline will be hard to arrest and could take years to put right.

He still didn't care for the team though, he cared about how much it was damaging his reputation as he always belittled us.

And in terms of our worst managers...none have had the freedom and the funds that he had and still turned us in to relegation candidates

Again, if you bothered to read the post, this is the exact distinction I was making between he and Sam. Sam doesn't care about his standing in the game or the club.

Freedom? He was the first that I know of to ever work under a DoF. Funds, I don't know how to adjust for inflation and an inflated market for premier league teams specifically due to the tv rights money.

This is purely subjective but imo we are not and have never been relegation candidates. I understand others had less faith and so people were happy for fat master flex to be appointed but I'd say if he stays past the summer he'd be the best bet for your worst manager ever trophy.

I can guess his after match comments already. He will deflect all blame away from himself and blame the players

Bingo! :red:

An utter shithouse of a manager who will throw the players under the bus every chance he gets. Prick.

I don't mind a manager calling out players on occasion, but you have to make sure you've done the most you can over a period of time first...

I accept the need to rest Coleman

Maybe, but then why start him against Leicester and not this game?

I know this may be unpopular with people, and I surely don't want him back, but Koeman actually cared a little bit. Sam acts as if he's blameless and no one else could do any better. Koeman towards the end looked disheveled and distraught. It obviously affected Koeman.

Koeman and Sam are exactly the same, both blamed the players rather than themselves. The only time Koeman took the blame was when we ended up with our worst ever start to a league season and European campaign.

He ran out of excuses. He didn't care. You're point was that he cared because he looked distraught after he last game in charge, which was a worse result and performance IMO against Arsenal than yesterday's. He looked like that because he knew he was failing as a manager not that he was failing Everton.

As for transfers, he agreed the major signings. There was not one he never wanted or rejected. Adjust for inflation all you want we're the 3rd biggest spenders in the league this season and so far away from the top 6/7 sides it's unreal that's it'll take another £200mill to fix with most of the squad he bought needing to be sold.

As for relegation...we were in there. We'd conceded the most amount of goals in the league conceding 2+ goals a game, we're in the bottom 3 leading up to December, one of the worst away records in the history of the club, in addition to one of the worst starts in the premier league for the club, as well as almost having the honour of the worst record for a English club in Europe.

But hey, he was alright yeah.

Ok if you flat out refuse to acknowledge this is what I've been telling you for about three posts straight I might as well talk to my wall.

Never once did I say he was alright or was doing a good job and I even said I definitely don't want him back.

You seem to be arguing with someone you've created as you consistently misrepresent and lie about what I've said.

But the point still doesn't make sense to me as I don't get why you feel Koeman "cared" more than Sam like that means anything.

Both don't/didnt care for the club.

But let's leave it as that. If I misinterpreted it, I apologise.
