I know this may be unpopular with people, and I surely don't want him back, but Koeman actually cared a little bit. Sam acts as if he's blameless and no one else could do any better. Koeman towards the end looked disheveled and distraught. It obviously affected Koeman.
Koeman and Sam are exactly the same, both blamed the players rather than themselves. The only time Koeman took the blame was when we ended up with our worst ever start to a league season and European campaign.
He ran out of excuses. He didn't care. You're point was that he cared because he looked distraught after he last game in charge, which was a worse result and performance IMO against Arsenal than yesterday's. He looked like that because he knew he was failing as a manager not that he was failing Everton.
As for transfers, he agreed the major signings. There was not one he never wanted or rejected. Adjust for inflation all you want we're the 3rd biggest spenders in the league this season and so far away from the top 6/7 sides it's unreal that's it'll take another £200mill to fix with most of the squad he bought needing to be sold.
As for relegation...we were in there. We'd conceded the most amount of goals in the league conceding 2+ goals a game, we're in the bottom 3 leading up to December, one of the worst away records in the history of the club, in addition to one of the worst starts in the premier league for the club, as well as almost having the honour of the worst record for a English club in Europe.
But hey, he was alright yeah.
