So you don't think the likes of West Brom, Newcastle or West Ham are worse than us? How can you explain that?

West Brom are 11 points below us and had 2 opportunities to beat us and couldn't. Burnley are closer in points to Arsenal than West Brom are to us so think you have to concede they are worse.

Newcastle are 6 points behind us and managed to let themselves be the first side in 11 months to be beaten by us at home. Don't see how you can argue they are better than us, especially as they have only just come up and have a team full of Championship level players.

We're 4 points ahead of West Ham and we put 4 goals past them in our most recent fixture.

3 teams straight away that are quite clearly worse than us.

Whilst we got 2 points from the 2 West Brom games the performances in both were embarrassing (especially the home one) and West Brom deserved to win both games at a canter. Now, I know you'll say we never got beat, so the performances don't matter, but for me they do.

We recruited a lot of players who had been regarded by themselves and certainly the media as the best players in poor teams and ones who had been getting those teams punching above their weight so to speak.

Likes of Schneiderlin at Saints, Keane at Burnley, Willliams and Sigurdsson at Swansea, Pickford at Sunderland, Sandro at Malaga, Bolasie at Palace, none of them with the exceptions of Pickford and Sigurdsson have any fight in them, the word big time charlies comes to mind, all of those have shown themselves to be the type of fish thats ok in a small pond with other little fish they can laud it over, stick them in a bigger team with bigger names and they have melted and whats worse they keep spouting crap in the media about fight and constantly show none of it, Schneiderlin being the worst with williams a close second

It's obvious that Allardyce has tried to rotate to get people fighting to get in the team, and what he's failed to realise that some jsut cba, some he is picking not on merit week in week out which ultimately undermines that method of trying to motivate the others as they see whats happening, the young lads who seem a close unit, have seen a couple of them being lambasted in the media by him, which frankly makes me think none of them will want that boss now.

as for us writing off games to focus on others, 100% this, and the last manager who did that for me was Moyes with the Derby being sacrificed embarrassingly so to focus on the cup game, and from that point on he was done at this club for me anyway.

One of the biggest things about managing better teams is dealing with bigger name players, bigger egos and agents, and managing the squad, it's easy to motivate a group of 18 players with the 'we are in this together' etc, a lot harder when you're giving that speel to 30 - of which half may hardly feature and the others cba
Problem is that Allerdyce is the ultimate big time charlie who thinks he is better than he is, so it's a recipe for disaster from start to finish imo

No idea if this is true or not but the lad is a good poster

One other player asked to go on loan earlier in the window and was denied. The subject came up in front of other players, with Allardyce saying he could go permanent but not on loan, the player said something along the lines of 'No, I'll be here for preseason, you wont'

Interesting to see who it was like, i would take a guess 100% it was Vlasic

I've stayed away since Saturday.

He has to go at season's end.

I'd realistically say he could go as soon as we got 40 points but that won't happen.

It's sickening, but give him his pay-off and get rid. Get rid of Walsh too while we're at it. And clear out the entire club.

Moshiri has put his money where his mouth is but ultimately the decision-making from him and - mainly - the 'football people' that he has employed around him and to support him has been outright abysmal.

Allardyce put the nail in his own coffin with that team selection, and then his post-match comments.

There'd be genuine outrage from the fans if he wasn't binned off at the first opportunity come season's end.

In the meantime, we get the new manager sorted. Tell them they have the rest of the season to keep a close eye on us and assess where they believe the improvements are needed. It's not hard, there's a big enough list.

The window is open June 9th to August 9th. Half of that is taken up by the World Cup.

Toff mate, i actually think we'd do better till the end of the season sacking him right now and giving it to Rooney as player manager till seasons end LOL

only partly joking there as well...

More serious - IF Fonseca is willing to take it then the moment he says yes, Sam should be sacked and out the door with his entire staff and Walsh

So he gets several thousand pounds a week to watch video's of Swansea and try to match there performance while persisting with players who are clearly not performing and throwing in a defender who is clearly off the pace and just not good enough.
Id admire your outlook I really do but we are an absolute laughing stock and to say we should not be performing better against the top 6 teams (even if we get beat) shows the tone coming from the club from the top down is actually rubbing off on some fans which is very sad.

Watch the teams below us go into every game till the end of the season give 100% to get 3 points while we fall across the line with 3 more wins. Id we have to accept this attitude we might as well give up now

If you don't mind me asking, are you over 30 or under?

I'm almost 30, and this is all i've ever known supporting this club. Whether that's Smith's relegation battlers, Moyes 4th or 17th, Martinez's sides 5th-11th (2x 4-0 humiliations at Anfield), Koeman or Allardyce.

We haven't competed (meaning played well and won) in these fixtures since Joe Royle managed the club.

So it's hard for me to expect a cowardly set of under performing no hopers like our 2017/18 team, to go to the Emirates and compete with a quality Arsenal side that has Aubemeyang and Mkhitarian in it. Our players have been spineless all season, and have won something like 1 league away game in 20+ attempts.

Next season is a different matter and i'd hope things are different once we address certain things in the Summer.

We’re stuck in a bit of a predicament now. The players know the fans hate Fat Sam and want him gone, at the same time, this squad of gutless cowards will not care for his instructions either. They have the perfect excuse to do what they do best, not care.

Sorry state of affairs. This is where we need leaders on the pitch, of which we have the worst captan in the league in Jagielka.

Nearly 39 mate (not sure what that's got to do with it) . Don't expect us to go and win games at the Emirates but I expect a team put out to put a shift in for the thousands of our fans that spent their hard earned cash to get there. There is getting beaten after 90mins and theres going out on the pitch already beaten and that's the lowest in my book. The players from the clubs below us are going out to win games and are well prepared with a game plan to at least put up a fight. We just continued to play players who have continued to not show up or bust a gut and look totally unmotivated.
