Yes but for the money spent (amount) and watching Swansea beat them we shouldn't have to play at our maximum just for a chance at a result.

Thats the type of squad we've built though.

Swansea have something to fight for. Happens all the time every season when the basement club gets a win against a top club.

For all those making out like the defeat was anything out of the ordinary on Saturday, have you forgotten that we got beaten by these last season in the same fixture 3-1 when they had 10 men for 76 minutes and still managed to score 2 goals to our 1 in those 76 minutes? And have you forgotten that Manchester United put 4 past us earlier in the season, Arsenal put 5 past us already at Goodison, Southampton put 4 past us under Unsworth, and Atalanta beat us 5-1? Last season Chelsea beat us 5-0 at Stamford Bridge.

There seems to be a hysterical over reaction as though Allardyce has come in and turned us from some solid outfit who would go in to these games well drilled and disciplined and would only come away with narrow defeats, to a negative rabble. We've been garbage all season and the anti-Allardyce posters need to accept it.

I completely understand the frustration and people wanting him gone at the end of the season but attempting to rewrite history won't work when the facts are there to be seen. We should obviously be striving for better than Sam Allardyce if we want to progress as a club but he was needed in the dire situation Koeman put us in, and Unsworth was struggling to get us out of.

Let's not forget that after the Atalanta defeat Koeman said this: "It's not the time to criticise the players, i need to criticise myself. “The team was not prepared.. that’s (on) the manager.”

I also won't forget Unsworth's tactic of lumping balls to Sigurdsson at Lyon away where we were taken apart 3-0. And guess what, he played Martina at left back, and played Gana and Schneiderlin in centre midfield together. The same frustrating tactics that people slaughter Allardyce for.

2 things...first I will back him in his role in keeping us up and if he gets us a top 9 finish then he will have done a decent enough job in my opinion. But I completely agree with your frustrations with his Lookman comments. He is wrong over it, and won't accept that he's wrong. Second though, I don't know how those who dislike/hate Allardyce can say that it's him whose sucked the enjoyment out of it. Were you enjoying the hammerings we took off United, Spurs, Atalanta, Lyon and Southampton etc under Koeman and Unsworth?

Koeman had us 18th, and effectively sent us out of Europe, before Unsworth put the final nail in the coffin with the Lyon and Atalanta results. Allardyce has improved our position since he took over from Unsworth.

I personally have found the whole season awful, but even more so when the other 2 were in charge as we'd get beaten off rubbish, whereas the only side that have beaten us under Allardyce where we'd expect to at least not lose is Bournemouth.

I wasn't enjoying it under Koeman, or Unsworth - my point is, the season has been absolutely horrific from the start - but having Sam in charge of the club a man who shouldn't be anywhere near it, is sucking every last bit of enjoyment out of supporting Everton for me.

Its always worse when you're being led by someone you dislike....

So your defence of Allardyce is that he's not worse than a manager we sacked for being dreadful, or a manager who was managing his 4th ever game of senior football. Great, give him a new contract.

It's starting to become apparent that certain players have just given up on the club. Wouldn't be surprised if the appointment of Allardyce was the final nail for some.

Wasn't saying that to be honest. There seems to be some insinuation that Allardyce is making us worse when he clearly isn't. We've been spineless for years against sides like Arsenal away, hence why we haven't beaten them on their ground since 1996. We have been hammered numerous times this season under 3 different managers which tells me that the players are nowhere near good enough and Allardyce also did not build this team.

I'll consider my position at the end of the season as to whether I want him gone, but a top 10 finish would be a decent enough outcome given where he took us over from. Not amazing, but reasonable. The problem I see with him is that he won't take us on from being just a top 10 side but he hasn't really been given a proper chance has he. And we should only be replacing him if there is someone better out there and actually wants to come.

Who is there out there that fits that criteria? Simeone for example is deluded and the disgraced Silva hasn't covered himself in glory has he...

The world is a big place with lots of successful managers outside of the elite... there is no way on this earth Sam Allardyces CV stacks up against 90% of the managers who could be available.

But he has kept some no mark clubs in the league - sound.

I think you must have watched very different games to me mate, because some of the performances (a defeat or draw I can take if we show heart) have been utterly terrible, worse then Koemans - the run of 0 shorts on goal was embarrassing.

This useless mess has been brought in to stop the results you mention, nothing’s changed. He’s talking about relegation when we sit top half of the table, (don’t fall for the BS that he saved us) he’s picking defensive teams that concede 5 goals, he’s telling us Rooney and Gylfi can’t play in the same side then he does and we win, then none of them play and we get thrashed!!! He’s taking zero responsibility for any of the results!! He’s picked about 8 different defensive pairings in about the 10 games since he’s been here..We play pure hoof ball football. He’s stopping me from going the game that’s how bad this lard head is...

SACK HIM IMMEDIATELY

Its the stuff he comes out with which is doing my head in just as much - the stuff about lookman/bolasie/walcott is absolute horrific to be honest.

The sooner he is gone the better, press reset on Walsh down and move forward as quick as we can, this season and management have put us back 4 years (at least)

Yeah he’s conning the world and I can’t believe people are swallowing it. I would take Martinez and Koeman back in a heartbeat over this fella.. “let’s get to 40 points and write this season off”
Anyone who renews their season ticket before they know this fella is out the door is actually insane..

I really dont get it. The amount of talent and quality in our squad and this is what we get.

Theres Something fundamentally wrong here.

What it is....is another question
